Hello

I started my university in Canada in August 2013 and in May 2018 took a break for financial reasons with only 8 classes remaining. I have started online classes now and after this summer I will only have 5 classes remaining.

I have become ineligible to apply for a work permit because of the time I took off from my studies. My question is, if I transfer to another university, will I become eligible for pgwp again if the length of my study at my new university is longer than 8 months?

Yes - you will become eligible again if you change schools / programs and complete a new program of study without any unauthorized breaks. If you do that, you will qualify for a PGWP that is the length of your second program. So if your new program is 8 months - you will get an 8 month PGWP.

Hi. So you're saying if I transfer program within the same university, I am still eligible for pgwp? That is after being pt for one semester in the previous program. Eg part time spring term first year in biochem and then switching to biology or chem and maintaining full time status throughout even though some of the courses done in biochem meet the course requirements for chem and bio? I'm really desperate :(
