What is MASc? You mean MSc? Yes, 45k is good funding. Are you alone or with family?

I am also fairly old, I started my PhD at the age of 34.

I think 470 is a competitive score although for the first couple of draws when FSW opens it might be slightly higher but i expect it to settle back at pre pandemic levels i.e. around 470. Although if you are around 470 and are close to losing points for age, then the score might not remain competitive.
MASc: Master of Applied Science. But yes, essentially an MS. I am alone.

At my current age (33), and 8777 IELTS score, I have 477 CRS. If I improve IELTS, I can go beyond 480. If I max out IELTS, I have 484.

Perhaps Human Capital PNP is a good idea in this case?

I think if you max out IELTS you can sit pretty at 484 and not have to worry about losing points for age. I mean then even if you lose points for age, you should still remain competitive for a couple of years.

Failing that you would still have options should you choose to do your PhD. There is the Ontario PhD stream as well.

So all in all, not much to worry if I was in your shoes.

Yeah, when there's almost no one to write IETLS (very very few) and when obtaining an ECA now becomes an arduous task now, you guys speculate the score to be 470 forever.
Great logic!

It's a pity that the logic seems lost on you.

Do you have any idea how long ECA is valid for? And given that interest in moving to Canada is only increasing with time, is there any reason to believe that the score should not settle around 470 as it did before FSW was stopped? How about you propose some of your brilliant logic to suggest why the score will drop down by a huge margin?

Don't waste your time. People have tried to reason with him, he waves them off on the basis of negativity and comes up with fictional illogical numbers in the name of positivity

Yes. Simple math would disprove his atrocious claims. While FSW candidates have to be hopeful, there is no good reason to mislead others with baseless calculations. The current data support the claim that candidates are joining the pool at a good rate despite the interruptions in the IELTS operations in the different parts of the world. Realistically speaking, anyone whose score is higher than 470 has a good shot at an ITA once the score settles down after a few general draws.

Hello,

Sorry I just want to inquire about LMIAs if anyone has any information. I heard Alberta will no longer issue LMIAs and that they are reducing their PNP quota. I am pretty sure the latter is true, how about the former?

Provinces don't issue LMIAs. Those are handled by Employment and Social Development Canada (a federal agency).

Looks like this article was posted in error? Has the government started processing temporary visas or is it still on hold?
This isn't a government web site. So pretty irrelevant what they post.

Just heard the borders will closed for longer than they originally had planned. 51K new cases in the US today alone. WOW. Those are some crazy numbers. Canada is not playing with thing. Seems like CEC guys with 300 CRS will be invited. Good for them. FSW guys dreams are fading away with each new COVID19 case reported. Drastic times call for drastic measures Canada and Canadians must be protected health wise and jobs wise.

You said that already. Thrice this week if my memory serves right. It's amazing you keep "hearing just" now and keep reposting it.
