Hello,

My name is Aqib Khan. I'm Minor (17 year old). I'm from Pakistan. I got LOA from a Canadian School Board in March from Ontario.I'm yet to apply for study visa for Canada because of COVID.
My question is how much bank statement is needed to have a good chance of getting study visa. My mother has 12,000 (Twelve Thousand Canadian Dollars) in her bank account.
1. Are they enough?
2. Will Canada accept applications because they've already had a lot of loss due to Cornonavirus.
3. And can minors work part time while studying in Canada?

Thank you
Have a nice day.

1. No, 12,000 is not enough. You must have enough money to cover tuition + $10,000 in living expenses. Tuition is typicallly around 12,000 to 14,000. So your mother needs to show a bank balance of at least $22,000 if not more.
2. Yes, applications are being accepted.
3. No, you will not be allowed to work. You must be studying at the university or college level to be allowed to work part time.

You need 1 year fees + 10,000 + travel expenses and an explanation how you are going to pay for the other years without working in Canada.

Minors can work, but you might need a guardian to be in Canada as a minor.

We have submitted fees to School board and we have 12,000 in Bank and also we have shown some of our property.
Can you tell me how to make our application more strong?
Thanks.

In that case you are good from a financial perspective. Assuming you are studying at the high school / secondary school level - you will not be allowed to work.

What do you think high school there is easy or difficult to understand in Grade 12 as i'm bad in Maths.

Also i got 6.5 bands in IELTS.

I think it will be difficult for you if your language abilities are only at 6.5 on the IELTS scale.

Can you tell me how is it going to be difficult for me because same 6.5 is required for College/University Education?
You will have to study harder than other students who have English as their first language. I can't really tell you anything other than that.

Hi,

Doing a similar high school program for my daughter and once you've paid the school fees, I believe you're fine with the CAD 12,000 bank balance. My daughter's application has already received the approval in principle last Thursday though we're yet to do her biometrics.

If you don't mind, can you tell me which high school in Ontario you're applying to as the fees look reasonable to me.

Good luck with your application.
