Crazy numbers, I'll definitely will dive deeper into all of that data to properly understand and model future predictions once FSW draws return. Having the proportion of FSW and CECs in each draw is a very valuable information to properly understand the pool distribution.
Very interesting list. Just some things I noticed just skimming through:
1. Increasing number of CECs as a fraction of EE ITA receivers
2. People are only (mainly) moving to Ontario, BC and Alberta
3. Women primarily NOC is Administrative Assistance, men are tech workers
4. Indians. Lots of them

Haha I am noticing the opposite:

1. A larger fraction of ITAs given to FSW year over year.
2. Ontario gives out the most provincial nominees. Alberta gives less nominees year over year.
3. Food Service Supervisors seem to be a popular way to get PR (no suprise)
4. Indians gain a large portion of ITAs.

I know people are antsy, but speculation about the next FSW draw is pointless. It will happen when the government decides it is safe, not when you decide it would be most convenient.

The job of the Canadian government is to protect their people first. Immigration is rightfully close to the bottom of the priority list right now.

Thank you, captain obvious.

Primaprime's next post: It's warmer in the summer.

Also, this entire thread is created to speculate, if you don't want to participate then don't post it in.

Gents, I'm kind of panicking. I will receive my official grad degree in mid october 2020, which is when I can apply for FSWP. My PGWP wil alsol only be valid until mid september 2021. I don't qualify for CEC or PNP unfortunately, so I'm waiting for the FSWP to open back up.
My score will be exactly 480 once I receive my degree, which I'm not worried about. I'm mainly worried about the increase in processing time. AFAIK, it used to be 6-7 months at most. Now 6 months is the minimum.
Someone please set me straight here, am I panicking over nothing? Is 11 months plenty of time for my PR to be processed and issued?
The reason I'm worried is because I have a car, furniture and a girfriend here that I don't want to leave behind if any unexpected delays do happen
man , there are many people who their pgwp will expire in 3 months and less.....

If you're within Canada, you will have options to extend your stay (like BOWP, Visit visa, etc) from within Canada itself. Once you leave the country, it gets much harder. If you graduate in Canada, you automatically get eligible for a PGWP, work for 1 year in Canada and then apply under CEC. You can have your FSW EE application submitted while you're working in Canada, and 1 year after that put in a new/second application for CEC as well I believe. You will have the option to extend your PGWP with a BOWP as long as you have an "AOR" on file. I believe the only thing stopping you from applying under both CEC & FSW is when you receive your PR you need to withdraw the other application. But i say "I believe" because i can't source where i read this part.
Thanks for the info. Didn't know about the BOWP, that makes me feel much better now. I'm currently in Canada and will not be leaving until I have the PR card physically in my hands.
Job market is kind of grim, applying left and right hopefully will land on something solid in the next couple of months when I graduate.

It's all pointless to me, you could come from a country with a lot of cases and not have it, you could come from a country with a low number of cases and have it.

I would just suggest that they test you for covid before you are due to fly, and they can add the expense to your settlement costs.

If the EU is opening up to international travellers, and their countries were among the hardest hit, it just means the virus is no longer a problem which cannot be handled, because they have already flattened the curve significantly.

Also remember Canadians and PRs can travel freely from Canada as it is.

Why would you be afraid of people who would not be landing until at least 6 months after they submit their AOR?

Make it a year if you want, just let them compete in the pool.
Europe is opening up in July , and most countries want visitors to have their Covid negative test within 3 days of their departure

Hi there

regarding number 1, lots of us are on pgwp and its not renewable
Yes, PGWP is not renewable for obvious reasons. Because it is only meant for that year's graduating students - and not for anyone who's ever graduated at any point in their life.

The last two alphabets are WP so if they already have a PGWP, they can apply for a new bridging WP first.

I am assuming that these people with expiring PGWP already have jobs in the fields they graduated in. If so, they can apply for a Work Permit and their PGWP would be extended in the way of a Bridging Open Work Permit.

Which is happening quite quickly! And then they can stay in the country and become CECs or PNPs.

However, if they want to stay and wait for FSW to open up and let them in, then their decision-making is extremely questionable and they might find themselves in a bigger mess.

I agree with you. It doesn't look good for India, Brazil, America, China or South Africa. I read reports where South Africa is covering up their numbers thats why the government of Canada is not leaving anything to chance.
If you can find those reports, I'd love to see them. My country is testing like crazy, and our incidence rates are good comparatively. And we don't even have extremely fancy healthcare systems like in the US. Yet with our very strict (and ongoing) regulations, we've effectively managed the pandemic so far.

South Africa has actually been lauded for its COVID response by those all around the world, including receiving praise from the World Health Organization: https://ewn.co.za/2020/04/23/who-praises-south-africa-s-efforts-to-curb-covid-19.

Please don't spread rumors that slander an entire nation. I live here. We're doing well.

Indeed. South Africa has responded marvelously all the way from the beginning of the pandemic. I'm an Indian citizen just finishing up an expat assignment here. I was scheduled to return to India in April, but chose to ride out the pandemic here for obvious reasons.

Cases are rising a bit in Gauteng now, which is worrisome. But overall, the response has been up there with the best of the examples from around the world - South Korea, Kerala, Vietnam tier. I'd much rather be in Johannesburg now than in most other countries, while seeing out this pandemic.

Great sir! Lemme ask you a question.
Many students who will be migrating on a Student visa, will be leaving by September or Jan can still carry virus right?
Many who got their COPR approved or CECs (who got ITAs) residing in India or USA or many who got OINP invitation are also outside Canada and some of them can still travel to Canada right (everything approved)?
Students are still traveling to Canada and those (PRs) who were on a vacation to India are still traveling.
Canada is doing proper screening and ensuring that nothing bypasses.
So why say 2022? Say 3000 or 4000AD
