No matter what...They won't allow India and the Top 50 COVID-19 countries come to Canada in the rest of 2020 or even 2021....just look at how crazy of those number now

Canada is under control now and let Canadian/PR like me to help the country first. Don't let outsider's virus to screw this again
EU just banned Americans from traveling there. Canada will follow suit plus they will include other countries as well. Mark my words not until 2022 the earliest before things open up.

The ban is just a rumour but it might actually happen due to the current state of the Americans. At this point, I really don't want to even guess anything anymore. When the draw happens, the draw happens.

No rumor. It was just announced. Look it up. Just set your plans on 2022.

2022 seems unlikely. Yes India and America have worrying numbers and haven’t handled the pandemic well but eventually FSW draws will start. I have a feeling it’s in July because Dubai is allowing visitors back into the country.

Yes, I guess the lastest October, 2020.
A vaccine is under development and it won't take until 2022 to be in place.
In addition, it is not realistic to think that Canada won't allow tourists or temporary residents from Americas and India to enter Canada for that long, it is their main source of income when it comes to visas.

Someone is saying 2022 and you are even listening to that person. They banned Brazil,America and Russia but that doesn’t mean Canada won’t allow people into their until 2022. Some of these peeps aren’t even suppose to be here. I guess that was why we left the CEC thread

Europe is opening up on 1 July, US, Russia and Brazil are barred.

I expect something similar soon in Canada.

I just had a haircut after more 3 months of the lockdown.

Canada is opening up.

All program draws will be coming up.

Canadians and PRs will basically be able to visit Europe and return to Canada in the next month.

Got a friend going to Greece.

With travel opening up, staff are going to be able to go back to strategic VOs, and things are going to recommence.

Maybe Canada can bar certain countries from the FSW draw as well. Such as India, Brazil and America.

If the idea is that someone from a country with more cases could be potentially bringing the virus to Canada, then they should not look at the hard data, but the ratio of cases per million.
1 million cases in Brazil mean 0,47% of the population has the virus, while 5 million cases in India means 0,36% of the population have the virus. Therefore, even though (in an hypothetical scenario) India have 5x more cases than Brazil, it would be safer to choose a random person from India to come to Canada than a random person from Brazil. Get it?
So, when we pick the ratio of cases per the total population, neither Brazil, neither USA or India have the highest rates of infections per citizen, in fact, they don't even show up in the top 15.

The "Canada will only reopen in 2021 or 2022" is either the sensible-but-extreme-minority-who-see-things-clearly take or its delusional negative wishcasting. I don't think there's a middle ground characterization of those opinions.

Okay I never considered it that way. That’s true.

Hopefully you realize that the Canada-US land border closure is completely separate from the travel restrictions at airports for the rest of the world. Canada does not need to wait for the US to fix itself, and for that land border to reopen, to welcome tourists from other parts of the world flying into airports. Nor does it have to wait for the US to fix itself to start inviting FSW candidates who will arrive (perhaps under quarantine) over 6 months from now.

Not to mention a fair portion of Canada's GDP comes from tourists during the summer months. And its own citizens want to go overseas on vacation. And its airlines need to start flying more so they don't die. The world has to move on.
U guys are not realising that Canada cnt leave US , as it’s their the top most priority , no.1 trading partner .canada is dependent on the USA. Many people have dual citizenship , and the healthcare is free in Canada . If Canada opens if borders , that means more cases and pressure on the healthcare system. Whereas in the USA , it is expensive

Hello All,
I am so happy to find this group.

I am new to the forum. Request you all to kindly provide your views on these 2 queries :

1) Chances of invite with a CRS score 462 ?

2) Chances of getting a master assessment from CES, University of Toronto for MA Degree in Social Work?
I initially got my assessment done from WES ( 4 yrs bachelors + 2 MA ) . However, WES assessment gave me bachelors with 1 year PG . So I applied again for assessment of my Masters in Arts Degree only from CES, University of Toronto. I am awaiting results for that . If that comes positive , I will then be at CRS 469.

Looking forward to hear your views. Thanks
