I did. Showed them all the pics. And did the nikkah party in banquet with over 120 guests. They wanted rukhsati ceremony. And it clearly said on the rejection booklet, that once they get their rukhsati ceremony done we will have no problem. So now they are not accepting just the nikkah.
Does this word “rukhsati” is actually in the rejection letter?

Yes it is. They give you a huge booklet which shows everything. What went wrong in interview. What you were missing in your application and what is required. So they said, once you do your rukhsati ceremony, reapply

Few years ago, they were totally fine with nikkah. So me and my husband did nikkah, applied and our plan to do rukhsati when we both were done with education. We didn't knew the immigration would deny. They don't consider nikkah as a complete marriage. New rule now

I have a quick question,I follow Islam and I married my wife who follows christianity as her religion and we married the civil way. As we both respect each others religion. Do you think they could ask us to have nikkah or rukshati ?

See, I did the marriage in a islamic way. Which is the right way. But for me, I came back to Canada in a month as I had my studies. So me and my husband didn't go for honeymoon. So either you do rukhsati, or do nikkah and go for money. Cause they want to see genuine husband wife relationship. Now I did my rukhsati last year, and I didn't get a chance to go out of country as I got pregnant. Now I had my child and I'm applying now. So this is the best I can show them that my relationship is genuine. Did you try checking the website out which shows which country specific requirements you need? Maybe that will show you

This happened because many were doing exactly what you did and only did the nikkah to start the sponsorship but that would only be equivalent to an engagement party because you would not be able to start living together until the rukshati was completed. Once the sponsorship was approved the rukshati would happen and then the couple could start living together as husband and wife. It was essentially trying to get the sponsorship started before you were actually ready to live together. The same happens when some couples do a court marriage to try to start the sponsorship process when it would be extremely rare for a court wedding to be accepted by the family or community. Many of the couples only do the court marriage to start the sponsorship but would only start acting like spouses when they had completed the cultural/religious ceremony.

Assume your spouse has looked into how difficult it will be to get licensed in Canada as an IMG.
