Hi there, I have been confused with the following statement among the eligibility for applying for the Citizenship in Canada.

'Adults and some minors must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1095 days during the five years right before the date you sign your application.'

Does this mean, I have to reside in canada for another 1095 days after I obtain the Permanent Residency card or does this implying something else? I have tried Physical Presence Calculator but there are just so many things that I don't understand..

Thank you so much,

Reside 1095 days from your landing date. Landing date is your PR status start date, not based on your card. Card is just a travel document and its nothing to do with your residency accumulation/status.
Dont worry about the calculator right now. Start accumulating. You have plenty of time to understand the process in the next 3 years. Main problem people miss/face is that they dont accumulate enough days within 5 years.

Hi thank you for your reply! just a follow up question, how do I know my landing date? & Are you implying the PR landing date is different with the date that I obtained my PR card?

The date you used your COPR first time to land.
Rest of the dates on PR card or when you received PR card is not a matter.

Ok thank you, I need bit of a elaboration as I am still not too sure what you mean by 'first time to land'. After I obtained my PR, I went back home (South Korea) to visit my family and will be returning to Canada after several months. Let's say I will be returning Canada this October, does the date starts from October and 3 years ongoing? Thank you, I just need an clear understanding.

at the back of your PR Card, the landing date is stated and Port of Entry.
the landing date is when the offical signed your CORP and you become Permanent Resident. If you went back to your country and back to Canada means no physical presence for your those travel days.
