Misunderstood and incorrectly answered Question 14 (Passports/Travel Docs) of the application form. Should I notify IRCC?

Hi. I appreciate everyone's discussions in this forum since they've been really insightful and reassuring, and I wish everyone the best of luck with their citizenship applications!

I think I have an issue with my application which I sent last September 2019 and has been 'In Process' since January 31 of this year. I cannot for the life of me understand how I managed to misinterpret Question 14 of the form only to realise my error now. Q14 asked us to provide details of our "travel documents and/or passports covering the five year eligibility period".

I have two passports issued by my country of origin: the first one was expiring in November 2019 so I had to apply for passport renewal to support my holiday travels that year. Unfortunately, I did not provide the details (Doc No., Country, Place, and Date of Issue, Expiry) of those two passports in Q14; instead I wrote down the details of the visas and its stamps within those passports. Upon reading the question I must have thought that the IRCC was interested in knowing the countries I visited and whether I entered those places with authority/permission. However I want to point out that I definitely included the photocopies of the biographical pages of my two passports as required in Step 3, the Document Checklist, of the application.

My question is, should I inform and correct IRCC of this mistake, or should I just wait for them to correspond with me regarding my application? And if I have to do the former, should I use the IRCC Webform for that? Many thanks in advance!

I have a similar situation, I sent my application last month which IRCC received couple of weeks ago.
I actually misunderstood question 14, I had my passport expired and have gap during the 5 years eligibility period. I only put explanation regarding passport expiry gap in table B and skipped to put passport details like issue, expiry etc in table A. However, I included copy of my passport biographical pages.

I believe if you have already received your AOR, then assume CIC is OK with your application and no need to fill IRCC Webform for that.

This is my assumption. Wait for other responses

Cheers for the response. Yeah I am under the impression that this oversight shouldn't be a reason to deny or delay the application; it's a matter of making a small correction. Though I do not want to feel complacent, so I hope somebody with a similar experience having made mistakes in the form knows what happens moving forward.

IRCC only send you AOR once they are happy with you application and your supported docs. As your application is already in Process therefore I assume they wont return your application. If they need to check your passport thoroughly. They will do so during the time of interview.
