Oh thats strange! Im sorry im pestering you with all this!
Just wanted to confirm :
Did you also get an email worded like this below?
"Based on our assessment of your recent enquiry, we cannot process your request as you have not provided sufficient evidence that you meet an exemption criterion and/or that your travel to Canada is non-discretionary, per the travel restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID 19) in Canada.
Even though you do not meet an exemption criterion and/or your travel has not been deemed non-discretionary, your application will now be put on hold until after the travel restriction pause has been lifted."
Hey i got the same letter with exact same wording. I also applied on june 17th for trv. Didn’t have to give biometrics as she had already given one for spousal pr. I also included the quarantine plan in her application. Please keep me posted on what you are doing next. I have already raised a webform request.

Hi Prateek! Seems like we are in the exact position! Have a spousal PR in process too!

Thanks man! Gives me a lot of hope! That means they messed up! Would you care sharing with me the emails of people you CC'ed?
Also this is what i provided:
1) Invite letter with 14 days quarantine plan
2) My PR card copy
3) Marriage certificate

Just wanted to run it by you to make sure i had put everything in order?
No problem. This community exists to help each other!

When submitting the online app, did you pick other and enter “COVID-19” as instructed?

I would reach out to your local MP first before CCing others. It’s kind of like jumping the Chain of Command. The others I CCd were the CIC Minister, Deputy PM, OUTCAN VO and VO Ambassador.

-Cover letter
-invite letter
-proof of status (citizen or PR)
-proof of immediate family relationship
-income info for both
-health/life insurance quote
-flight quote
-quarantine plan
-post quarantine plan (with and or without COVID regional restrictions)

FYI, Biometrics for sponsorship will not count for TRV application they are both different biometrics.

I have added all the docs they needed!
Biometrics once given doesn't change for a person for ten years, so i guess it will hold!

I applied for a TRV for my wife back in 23 APR 20. I received a letter via GCKey on 7 May, stating my wife does not meet the exemption criteria as she is not visiting for essential reasons. After the recent announcement (8 jun) by the immigration minister and CBSA allowing immediate family member of Canadians and PRs to visit them without essential reasons. I emailed the visa office and they are still telling me my wife does not meet the criteria. They are holding my $100 hostage and not doing anything. What is my recourse. How can I complaint about this behaviour? I’m am super upset now! Should I email the IRB?
Same situation. Theyre holding my $180 hostage as well.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Good news! This morning I got 3 emails from CIC asking (wife’s account) to login and read the letters.

The first letter was regarding the biometrics and how long it’s valid for. My wife did a bio last year for a TRV so no bio required. The letter is generic. So, if you get that biometrics info letter it’s a good sign that they are working on your application. Note: my wife is from Asia and I have been dealing with the VO in her country. After emailing my MP and CCing the CIC Minister, DPM and the VO Ambassador. It looks like her application was processed in Kingston Jamaica. The biometrics letter had kingston VO’s address at the bottom. The asshats in Asian VOs are fired! Lol

The second letter was for PPR and the third letter was the authorization letter to travel to Canada. Wife will be submitting her passport to her local VFS as soon as they open on Monday AM.

Keep sharing your stories and situations so others can be helped.

Happy days! Good luck to all my friends!
Congratssssssss!!! Super happy for you! You deserve this peace of mind.

Read the entire thread. My wife got TRV PPR this AM!
The only difference in our situation is that my husband never got to do biometrics. All the VACs are closed and there are no flights still. He missed the biometric date because of those issues. Closers and cancelled flights keep extended every month. So we decided to withdraw TRV after we got that same letter. I asked for refund, theh offered to extend the bio date. But i give up. I still havent received that refund, its been 2 months.
We decide to just wait for sponsorship. My flight is next month so ill be with my husband until the next step.
Congrats again!

Thank you very much for sharing the documents that need to be submitted. Do we need to submit any letter from the organization where my spouse is working saying that she is granted leave etc? and what should be the number of days that one should mention in the letter?

Okay so you got the approval that your wife can travel to canada.
hate to rain on your parade, even if your application is being processed her visa needs to be approvedas well.

@CDNsoldier
Congrats on your wife's trv!
Now you wont care about PR timeline...

Would you be so kind as to share what proof did you provide to show strong ties to country?
Also did they ask for wife's bank account for last 4 months?
How much money would you say an applicant would need to show (if applicable)

Much obliged...

Yes, this will def help. The more docs the better. I put 8-10 week. However, when she lands, she will tell CBSA, she want to stay as long as possible while her Outland application is being processed. If they give her 6 months or more, she will apply for OWP.
