Hey - Do you know if rental cars (rented from Canada) are considered private?
Yes they are. We were in a rental on one of those trips

From the link I attached in previous post "Some examples of private vehicles include, but are not limited to: a car, truck, motorcycle, or recreational vehicle that you own, borrow, or rent. It is a vehicle not available for public use"

Thank you very much for your feedback. do you think they can exceed 113 days they set now? I will put my uncle address and leave canada, but he is already going to change an apartement but no fix date yet, so i am wondering if the 113 is a sure fixed time, i dont know if anyone has exceeded that time...
Honestly with everything going on, it might exceed their estimate. Also the processing days doesn't factor in mailing time...it's just a brutal waiting game at this point

Submit a webform asap when you know new address. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Sometimes they'll email you to acknowledge the change...sometimes they won't. How long it'll take will depend on workload I'd imagine.

You can always call them as well to verify they got new address

My parents got their PR landing confirmation email last week and on the same day we sent their COPRs with copy of PR landing confirmation letter to CIC- Etobicoke in one envelope by Canada Post.
My father has been able to link his PR card application using his UCI and other details. It doesn't show dependent.
My mother also tried to link her application using her UCI and other details in her GCkey account. It comes back "No matching details found".
Can someone confirm if each applicant of a family has to link his/her PR card application seperately in his/her account?
you did link PR card application after the COPR+Photo reached Etobicoke office? or it doesn't matter?
In my case, I sent the COPR+Photo last Saturday but it hasn't reached the Etobicoke office yet (covid-19 effect it seems).

  • Telephone: 1-888-242-2100 (in Canada only)
    • Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone you can listen to pre-recorded information about our programs, and check the status of your application.
    • Client Support Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays. Services are available in French and English.

Agents can help you with general and case specific enquiries. They cannot:
      • make decisions on applications
      • help process applications faster, unless you meet the criteria for urgent processing
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/client-support-centre.html

You then have to find the right combination to be redirected to an agent.

I tried to call and it worked, something is wrong on your end.

As long as you're in a private car, you can cross any land border with copr (must be signed and stamped- that's what makes you a PR). My sister and I went to the US twice with copr (and passport with US visa of course) before lockdown driving from Ontario to upstate NY and back with no issues.

Pr card or prtd are for public transportation company/airline personnel to verify your status. So you cannot use copr on greyhound, train, plane, etc.

vs land border, in a private car, you answer to no one until you present yourself to CBSA official who can verify your status. Hope that makes sense

I've also since got a job with copr and sin number.

Thanks for the info about travel.
So my COPR was just "signed" by the immigration officer with all the dates filled out including "became a PR on" etc.
There was no stamp as such, did they miss something? They were able to initiate the PR card process, so I assume its ok?
