Hello, everyone.
This thread is for those of us who already got their study permit approved and are waiting to join their respective colleges/universities in September.
How do you see the flying situation from your country?
Is your course online now? if yes, wont we be questioned at the immigration about why we are coming to Canada for an online course?
How do you plan to prove that you will self isolate for 14 days?
Those who have relatives, don't you think they will want to see if that relative even has a spare room for you? do you think they will pay a surprise visit?
Is having a friend the same thing?
Those who don't have anyone there, what do you guys plan to do?
Air bnb? fair enough. but how will be get food and basics if there is no one with us.

Please share your plans. Thankyou.

Hello,
I also in this uncertain situation as my visa was approved before March 18, I’ve already bought tickets to the end of August. But I do not know what to do, as my study will be held online, I want to travel to Canada and ready to prepare 14 days isolation, but I think that at the border officer can refuse entry as it will be non-essential travel.
what do you think? Is it real to enter Canada and start online study there?

That is a question however I believe we shouldn't be restricted to travel to Canada because courses can shift face to face anytime if the situation improves. Despite everything being online, there are many course and material related work for which we have to be there.
My main concern is planing and proving self isolation.
I read in the news that their Chief Public Health Officer said federal government will pay for a place for those who don't have a place to self isolate. Not sure if that applies to international students. Either way, its always better to have your place arranged however I don't know how to prove an easy access to food and medicine with an AirBnB

Not anytime all they'll do is from next year onwards they will shift the course from face to face. No matter what the situation is, 1st semester will be fully online.. I'm just shit scared hope things get well in later year. Or else will be forced to study online in jan 2021 too. N that would not be worth

IRCC has just updated that, it is suspending application processing for a Study permit and other temporary visas till 30 June. Below is the link.

IRCC suspends visa processing

Most of us are waiting for past 3 months for our Study Permit approval, It looks like we are in for some long wait.
Earlier IRCC had mentioned that process was on hold till June 9 and today being June 9, they have decided to suspend processing till 30 June.

Where did you get that. According to the link you mentioned its says

"If you’re not eligible to travel to Canada, don’t apply during the suspension of normal processing (until June 30, 2020)".

Means new applicants should wait till june 30th before applying for study permit. Because its a suspention PERIOD of normal processing.
As of june 9th the started process of application that are pending.

I have my study permit approved before March 18, and I already booked a ticket to Canada in early July. I think it would be fine based on what stated on CIC website and FB page. I also sent an email to CBSA but I am still waiting for a response. I'll fly from the US, but I have friends in my home country and they successfully got through the border. They just traveled in late May and now in quarantine.
