What would be the worst outcome if I updated form 5707?

I have already got my study permit approval. (5707 unchecked families accompany)
Now, due to several reasons, I would like them to go with me so I want to update 5707.
We have way enough fund for 1 year, property in the home country.

Recently, I know someone successfully to do so.
Just want to know what would be the worst scenario if it goes wrong (refusal on approval)?
Will my SP get revoke?

Even if they got refused. I can still get my SP on the border (no negative effect from their refusal)?

What about the future inland apply for SOWP? Refusal could leave a bad record?

If nothing to lose, then I would like to try.
