My mom was selected in 2019 for the Parent & Grandparent sponsorship.

Timelines (as per GC key):
  • Application received: May 28, 2019
  • Date of Biometrics Enrolment: October 31, 2019
  • Review of medical results: November 13, 2019 (passed)
  • On Feb 4th they requested dad's death certificate which I emailed them on Feb 6
  • On Feb 21: they emailed "invitation to pre-arrival services" in GC key.
ECAS status: Decison Made

The last entry in ECAS says: "We sent xxx (my mom's name) correspondence on February 4, 2020. If xxx has not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please have xxx do so as soon as possible. Please wait until xxx receives the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. "

I had emailed them this document on Feb 6.

Chat with IRCC on Status: When I called IRCC a few weeks ago to check on the status of the application, the agent mentioned everything seems to have gone through smoothly (medical, background checks, etc) & it appears that now the application is with New Delhi office. I understand that due to the lockdowns in India, the New Delhi office may not be processing applications as they may be closed.

Questions:
  • What do the next steps & timelines look like for mom's application?
  • When can I expect her to be able to come to Canada on PR. (trying to estimate this)?

Thank you for taking the time to share your insights, I really appreciate it :)

Hi all, hope you're all keeping safe in this pandemic.
Just wondering if applications are being processed now. I am a June 10 AOR applicant, and my ECAS status has been "In Process" for ages. I had submitted all the documents in Feb when they were requested, but I haven't heard anything since. Is there any trend of applications being processed now?

My parents timeline same as your mothers with difference they received Pre Arrival on 30th April 2020 and Decision made on same day. When I reached out to CIC via webform they sent me standard response of COVID-19 situation and informed no further action on file.

Next step should be Passport Request and COPR but that no visibility on how much time it takes to receive Passport Request.

There is no point in asking for an extension of her visitor status until her visitor status is almost expired. Apply a week before expiry just in you have some questions.
Hi everyone. I have a queation about extending stay. I tried searching for answers in other threads but cannot find. I had hoped the decision would be made on my mom's PR by this time but due to covid crisis that's not going to happen. My mom is here on supervisa and her stamp says to leave by august 2020. Based on processing time of 133 days mentioned on ircc website for extension of stay, I have decided to apply right now.

While filling the questionnaire, I picked extend stay for more than 6 months and yes for medical done in last 12 months (we got it done for PR). Now in the application it is asking me to give proof of medical. I don't have any proof. Is it asking for medical because I picked more than 6 months? What should I do?
To Intangible,
I had similar situation but my mom under Visitor Visa. I had posted similar question and I got response from others who had faced the same situation.
My mom's visitor visa expires on next month. As per Canadian website, I need to apply 30 days before, I have done the same. Also I called toll free number to verify whether there is an exemption that canadian government waived for people who came as Visitors in Canada. But the Agent told me that canadian government accepting the visa extension application since the people are struck in Canada because there are no international flights.
In your case, I would suggest to apply your extension in Jul, dont apply now.

Best Regards
RV

Hello,

My parents' file is in New Delhi visa office. In anticipation of PCC, ahead of request by CIC, I applied for PCC in Feb and received the same. However due to pandemic I have not received any PCC request as of now. The Feb dated PCC will expire in July as it is valid for 6 months. Shall I upload the curret PCC in myCIC account now even without the request from CIC to avoid re-issuing the PCC?

I am really struggling with my mom's situation. She is 72 year old widow in Delhi with absolutely no other family support there. Looking for some guidance from experienced people here.

My mom did her initial medical exam in Delhi in February followed by sputum test (which came back without any issues). The panel physician office in Delhi has her results. She called the panel office recently, the panel doctor doesn't come on the phone and a nurse hastily told her to come see the chest specialist and bring Rs. 5000. Already my mother has paid around Rs. 20,000 for initial medical + CT scan + sputum test.

My mother is too scared to go there now due to the coronavirus situation as she's scared of getting infected and also because there is no clarity as to what else remains to be done. All her tests have been ok so far with no medical issues.

Is the doctor's office taking advantage of her situation by demanding money like this? Will they try to create any additional roadblocks for her? What additional medical test is to be done? Based on what I have read, they should only be doing one chest x-ray right?

I am trying to figure out what to do. Can someone please guide me as to what to expect next if she is able to make it to the panel physician's office again?

Sorry to hear About your situation. Likely initial chest X-ray did show some abnormality, that’s why sputum test was requested. Usually they ask to repeat chest X-ray to ensure the stability In 3 months. I think you can call visa office and ask what the medical immigration officer had requested and follow only that tests and refuse any additional testing doctors office might offer. wish you best of luck

The panel will not contact your mother until further tests are needed.
Why she needs to go again for test if everything is cleared.
And if they are taking advantage you must report this to IRCC.
I think Max - AT Panchsheel is one of the best clinics on the panel.
Your mom cant go in these circumstances esp she is above 70 . That will be more or less putting at her risk.
Incase the doctor office which is demanding all this money and harassment please do not give in write the whole case due pandemic and high cases in DELHI she cant travel on her own which is putting her at risk and also complain about doctor office as well
Shame on them for harassing an old person.
additional tests request will come thru only if needed - not at their whim and fancy,
and i understand how difficult it would be your mom- my mom case is same - alone and no one to help but thankfully she is in Toronto right now.
