I am currently filling my PGWP application. My situation is, I have had 2 study permits. The first which expired in 2018, so it shows date issued 2016 and expiry date 2018. Then I applied for an extension, so my new study permit shows date issued 2018 to expiry date 2020. I am at number 7. it states:

Current country or territory of residence:
Country or territory which is Canada
Status is Student
From ________?
To ___________?

Now according to the instruction guide it says:

Question 7
From the list, select the appropriate information to indicate your immigration status in Canada:

  • Citizen
  • Permanent resident
  • Visitor
  • Worker
  • Student
  • Other
  • Protected Person
  • Refugee Claimant
  • Foreign National
Other: This section must be completed if you selected “Other” as a status.

Provide the dates (From-To) to indicate how long you have had this status.

So my questions are:
1. In the dates from and to, will I use my original date 2016 of my old study permit to indicate how long I have had this status?
2. Will I have to upload my old study permit so that it reflect the 2016 date which i became a student or only my current valid study permit that shows my current status?

I'd appreciate any help asap @canuck_in_uk and others! :)

Am still confused how to fill my Employment section. I am still employed with McDonalds part-time but has not been working due to the current situation since March. I officially graduated on the 22nd May, degree granted 15May.

Will I fill my current activity/occupation as follows?:

Current Activity/Occupation: Student
FROM: 2016 08 (when my student status came into effect)
TO: 2020 04 (month when I received my completion letter)

OR

Current Activity/Occupation: Guest Experience Leader (Part time)
FROM: 2019 07
To: 2020 03 (last day working bearing in mind that I am still employed here or should it be left blank)

Thanks @canuck_in_uk or anyone else :)

As you weren't laid off, you list it as current employment.

I will be eligible for graduation in fall 2020 and studied full time (passed 12 credits each semester) for the duration of my study in college.I had to take a leave in fall 2019 due to a family emergency and left Canada for a few months IN 2019 ,I actually left July 12th 2019 and returned December . But is enrolled for my spring 2020 courses in November 2019 and paid all related fees in full . I'm married and having my wife and son with me here as well ,
Would be necessary to state that summer is considered a scheduled break in our college (from April to September each year).
Would that leave for fall semester be considered a problem in process of my PGWP issuance ?

APPRECIATE IF YOU PLEASE CAN ADVISE @canuck_in_uk and others.

As you left during a regularly scheduled semester, it means you did not study full-time and yes, it could be an issue.

Thanks for your nice feedback , I left due to my dad's medical and health emergency . What documents should I present to have this justified ?

I completed my upfront medical last Friday. My information sheet dated in April because that is when I began the process. I want to make sure I am selecting the correct answer to this question below:

Have you had a medical exam performed by an IRCC authorized panel physician (doctor) within the last 12 months? I selected YES.

Please let me know if I selected the correct response. @canuck_in_uk et al Thanks :)

Hey @canuck_in_uk and all.. thanks for your help in advance

I have a 3 year pgwp started oct 2020. I also did a medical exam which I passed. Thus, allowing me to work in early childcare.

I am applying for my PR in a few months. And will be submitting a new medical as schedule in Feb for my PR application

1. Is my current medical valid for the life of my pgwp?

2. If not, how do I correct this?
