FBI - Identity History Summary Check and Indian PCC

Hello there,
I wanted to know if someone could provide more information pertaining to to the following scenarios, which seem like a possibility in my case.

1. If I apply for the FBI - Identity History Summary Check while I'm in the US and then move to India permanently, will the report be still valid or will I have to apply for a new one. The Canadian Express Entry - Police Certificate webpage states the following; "For any other country, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row". So, is the interpretation, that I need the certificate to display the date after my last date of residence in the US, correct? Or is this the wrong way of interpreting the statement?

2. If I obtain my Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Indian Consulate while I am living in the US, is it still valid when I move permanently to India, considering it has not expired? Or do I have to apply for a new one, considering that is my current place of residence?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Both PCCs must be valid at the time of submitting your E-APR. If you are moving to India in the short term, better to wait till you move to India, get both US& India PCC in one shot and submit the E-APR.

Hello arun_canpr. Thank you for your response. Not exactly sure as I have not received them yet. Do both the PPC forms (US and India) have expiry date on them. Not sure whether you had to get one from the US, as I don't know if lived there, but just wanted to confirm.

no they dont have expiry dates. ircc doesnt care about pcc expiry dates, only the issue date.

Thank you for clarifying. So, seems like I will have to wait till I move back before applying for the police certificates, based upon my current situation.

Both PCCs must be valid at the time of submitting your E-APR. If you are moving to India in the short term, better to wait till you move to India, get both US& India PCC in one shot and submit the E-APR.

I actually had a similar issue. I was moving from USA back to Pakistan (for a few months) before moving to Canada again on student permit. What I did was, took my finger prints a few days before I left the USA and mailed them to the FBI for the identity summary history. The mail ensured that it got to FBI after I had left the USA. I had a hard copy sent to an address in the USA and also requested a soft copy.

I got the soft copy when I was in Pakistan and things turned out just fine.

What I did was, took my finger prints a few days before I left the USA and mailed them to the FBI for the identity summary history. The mail ensured that it got to FBI after I had left the USA. I had a hard copy sent to an address in the USA and also requested a soft copy.

I got the soft copy when I was in Pakistan and things turned out just fine.

Hi there! Thank you for your response. I'm planning on doing something similar after receiving the inputs from the folks yesterday. I still am a bit concerned about receiving the documents on time, but some things are just not in your control. So, this is definitely the best option.

I just checked, it seems I got my soft copy access to the identity summary history in about 5 weeks from sending out my fingerprints.

Not sure how the covid delays factor in nowadays.

Similar to you, I'm planning on sending the fingerprints in a way that the FBI will be generating the report after I have left the country. But, while filling the application form, there is a slot for Current Residence. So, considering while I'm currently filling this form, I'm in the US, should I fill in the space with US or India?

Use the US address. I timed my departure so that I use the US address as the current address. After all, your US address is your current address until you actually leave the country.
