Hello Everyone,

Could you please let me know if the below work experience calculation is advised to make an express entry profile?

I have all the pay stubs from the below 3 companies, and calculated my hours based on that.

Basically I was working for a client EmployerX through (2 contracts, different job roles) and was hired as a permanent employee recently

Please note that I was on payroll for the below contracting agencies Aerotek and Randstad (T4's issued) and not an independent contractor/self-employed

Software Developer
NOC A - Working for Employer X through Aerotek - Feb 25, 2019 - Jul 12, 2019 - 510 hours (included only paid hours, max 30 per week i.e., days in which I worked)

Technical Support Consultant

NOC B - Working for Employer X through Randstad - Sep 23, 2019 - Mar 13, 2020 - 740 hours (included only paid hours, max 30 per week i.e., days in which I worked)

Hired permanently for the same job role

NOC B - Permanent full-time for EmployerX - Mar 16, 2020 - May 29, 2020 - 330 hours

The total hours will reach 1580 hours by this month end.

Am I good to proceed with this?

Thank you in advance for your time and inputs

If you are not counting more than 30 h per week, then yes. You are good to go.

If you are, then you should only add up the 30 first hours of each week to get your actual total.

Hi,
Thank you for your input.
I have 2 quick doubts

1) Do you think I need to take reference letters from both my contracting agency (where my payroll is on) and the client company manager as well?

2) Also, in my first NOC A job, ideally it’s 5 months i.e 20 weeks x 30 hours = 600 hours, but I was on unpaid vacation for almost 1 month and hence claiming just 510 hours for which i worked and got paid.

so, is there anything I am missing or am I on the right path?

Thanks

You seem to be on the right path.

  1. From whoever was paying you. Make sure to get a reference letter with all the specs as required by IRCC.
    • It wouldn't hurt to submit both, just make sure that the duties listed and any additional details in both match.
  2. Yes, you should not count those hours because you didn't actually work (it was an unpaid leave).
