Waiting for lmia

Hi everyone I have a one year job experience and have a open work permit that will be expiring in august after almost 2 and half month from today I need your suggestions guys because I applied for lmia For PR APPLICATION on march 4 and still didn’t got any response expect confirmation letter
Any idea how much time it will take and also in this much time can I get open work permit extension when should I apply
Your suggestions will be be really appreciated

If the LMIA is only to support a PR application, they you cannot use the LMIA to apply for a closed work permit.

You will need to wait until you either get ITA through Express Entry or a nomination from one of the Provinces before you will qualify to extend your open work permit.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion I have a one more concern because it has been 3 months for my lmia application don’t know how much time more it will take and just in case I don’t get ITA BEFORE my work permit expiry then what will be my option
Apply for work permit without lmia
Or
Still be able to work until get my file is in EE POOL
Because my WP expiry is august 9 so worried in this situation

You need to have ITA before you can apply for an open work permit. Yes, you can certainly enter the Express Entry pool now. Whether you are selected out of the pool without the LMIA and receive ITA will depend on how many points you have. You can't apply for the open work permit without first receiving ITA.

What kind of LMIA did your employer submit? Was it to support your PR application only and there was no $1,000 fee? Or did your employer pay the $1,000 fee so that the LMIA can be used to apply for a closed work permit.

Actually i have only 430 point now and lmia application is without 1000 fees that is only to get Extra pionts for PR
i talk to lawyer few days before he said he will apply for my work permit extension so as per your suggestion if its not possible without ITA
Then what will be my option , expect to be out of status

The work permit extension is going to be refused if you don't have ITA and then you'll end up out of status in Canada.

If you don't have ITA by the time your work permit is set to expire, you should apply to change your status to visitor and then stop working once your current work permit expires.

Unfortunately the LMIA your employer is obtaining only supports your PR application. It will not allow you to apply for a closed work permit.

You really need to receive ITA before your current work permit expires if you want to continue working past the expiry date of your work permit.
