Proof of Funds - PR Application

Hello,

I just received my ITA last month and had a question regarding the proof of funds. I am currently working in Canada and was going to get some funds from my family in India. I just had two questions.

1) Can I use the funds once I have submitted all the documents or do I have to maintain a balance of $20,000 for 6 months until I get my PR?
2) Do I have to get a gift deed or letter from my father in India to attach along?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. You need to maintain the funds till the time you get confirmation of PR
2. Yes , you need a gift deed as your funds will not be six months old and u have to explain large influx of money through gift deed

Additionally, I would suggest, keep the fund atleast about 2K higher than the required amount - As the currency is fluctuating during CoVID, better to show funds at a higher range.
