Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
You will find below useful information that we hope will help understand the process and current status of your permanent residence application.
· The security background verification has not been initiated.
- Your application is currently being processed at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
- The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if you and your family members if applicable meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which you have applied. You can expect to be contacted if additional information is necessary.
- The criminal background verification is currently valid.
This is normal. All cases are unique. Its not 6 months yet. They r working wuth less staff. They will pick up our applications soon as December people r getting good news. Mine also same status, infact criminality also not passed. Check with webforum in June 1st week. While other applicants have seen their applications get approved or passed eligibility screening, my case still gets stuck at Sydney CIO at eligibility verifying step. Honestly, it really makes me nervous and a bit frustrated. This is the reply that I got for webform sent last Thursday:
