So our application was received January 7, 2019. November 2019 our application was fully completed pending an interview. I pleaded with my MP and the immigration minister to help expedite given the situation in Ecuador and being the worst hit South American country with this outbreak. Today my wife spent 12 hours looking for a doctor and it was to late. Our unborn child was decreased before she could find a doctor that could help us. I can't blame the immigration system for this....but I really wonder if the outcome would have been different had she been in Canada. Our MP continuously told us our application was complex but that does not explain why our application was finished and we are 6+ months awaiting an interview date. Our immigration system seems truly broken when an innocent baby doesn't stand a chance because our government couldn't make this a humanitarian issue. I have pleaded with many government officials over the last month for the safety of my family and received nothing more back then a generic response. I think the worst part is the difficulty to get a visitor visa and the crazy expense to hire lawyers. And now my wife and I cannot even be together to support each other in our time of loss.

I know we are all missing our families and all going through our own seperate issues but I really wish our government would step up and make this process easier and more transparent. I wish there was a way to make this government hear our stories because simply writing them does nothing of benefit.

We need to contact a journalist and make your story viral we need to get attention in your story

I am sorry for your loss. I can try to connect you to journalists whenever you are ready to talk about this.

Honestly, I appreciate I can read everyone here and I feel everyone can relate understand me.

I’m 13 months and I’ll be 14 months this May my medical expires in 28 days, all this process is a damn joke as PA I feel the need of psychological assistance I feel seriously affected, I don’t feel accepted in Canada or Quebec and I shared this with my husband already , I got to a point where I feel rejection and pain inside my heart, today is 6 months away from husband we have more than 1 year married, and we know each other since 7 years and a half ago.. our 1st year married we haven’t enjoy really it has been all this damn process.

Borders are close still, and travel for now doesn’t seem an option I just want to cry and tell you guys that we need to keep we not alone, and if this is hard for all of us, I’m sure once is over we will have a huge testimony to share. Stay strong.
Not even news from quebec... .

What does your background check on the cic profile say? Mine says:
  • We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Does this mean anything?

It means theyre doing the background and security check. This could take MONTHS. And i mean MONTHS. Not really indicative of anything

That just means we are stuck at waiting until probably autumn without any news , cause at the moment nothing seems to be moving at all.

If you are a 2019 applicant, surely your bgc is ready because it was made in sydney. Similarly in the notes you can see that. Example in my application on the cic page appears that it has not even started but in the notes it says that it is already in process.

Is part of BGC as far as i know...

yeah processed differently more steps even longer ...

I don’t understand some of u guys in here are only 2019 applicants and are hurting so much, much less those that are 2018 applicants like myself an a few others in here.
Smh.
June will be two years for our marriage and also for our application.
Immigration Is just so impossible.
Messing with persons lives.
Then I gues it’s true what I have read in an article, that immigration processes u more quickly unless u have reached a two years mark in the relationship. Because no way are they abiding by the 12 months processing time .

When you see all those that get treatment of favor in 3,4 months from a certain nation i won't mention about and us all on wait for 12 (for the lucky ones..) 15..20 months !

This 12 months is NOT even effective anymore , they just put the statistics to be around 75-80% cause of this streamline as priority they do toward a certain nation. I rather not naming it cause ppl will think i'm racist (which i'm not) , but everyone knows who's i'm talking about...

Well sorry but i understand those like Mariana948 that says she doesn't feel welcomed in here. The whole system is broken , it's now ridiculous the wait you have to face unless you are on that "selected group".
