I am using a Immigration Advisor for my application so I don't have access to the GC Key to check. I asked him when they approve the OWP if they send an email and he said no, first they send a letter and later they send the OWP.
Can you post here if you receive this letter in the next days?
I noticed that my OWP was approved yesterday when I was just randomly checking my account as I mentioned before. Today, I received an email from CIC stating that the status of my OWP application was updated, and to check my account. A few moments later, I received another email from CIC stating that I have a letter in my account regarding my OWP application. The letter uploaded to my account was the normally generated letter they send to inform you that your OWP is approved, and that it will be sent by mail. It also states to contact them if you don't received your OWP by mail within six weeks.

Based on comments posted in this regard, applicants seem to receive their OWP by mail within one week to ten days of approval. I will post here for sure when I receive it by mail.

Extra information which you didn't ask for but I will write here in hope that someone might benefit from it: I also checked the online application for SIN today, and the agent told me that an applicant receives their SIN after an average of 20 days from receipt of application these days so not too bad!

Hello All,

My wife came to Canada in November and we applied for Spousal PR + OWP and received application on December 30. We received the AOR and Linked her OWP to CIC GC Key account. Looking at the current situation it will take more than a month to receive her OWP. Now my question is on May 8th, it will be 6 months since she landed in Canada.

Do we have to apply for Extension? Or she is considered as on implied status?

Please help.
Thank you.

Hello All,

I had sponsored by wife for her PR and OWP on 14th Dec 2019 and since then the only update we have received is of her medical being cleared. I have not received any notification for biometrics or any other update. Did anyone receive their biometrics request to date? Any idea how much more time will they take to approve the application for her OWP? Ideally, it should have been approved by now but there has been complete silence from IRCC end. Even called the customer care people and they have no updates regarding the same.

MY OWP IS FINALLY APPROVED! I checked my account and under status it stated : "Application/Profile updated". The final decision of approval was made today. COULD NOT BE ANY HAPPIER!
Hi, Congrats on your OWP approval. Did you get any email regarding biometrics? I had submitted my wife's application on 14th Dec and haven't heard anything to date including any request for biometrics.

Hi All,

We are applying for visitor visa extension, and I need to submit upfront medical exam. Also, I would like to use the same medicals for sponsorship PR as well.

What are all the documents I need to carry to the medical center?

Thanks in advance!

@Kishorekish Make an appointment and let them know that you are doing it for immigration purpose and they will ask you a bunch of questions. Usually IRCC sends the medical request about 80-90 days after your stay extension online application that was how mine came.
The required medical examination documents are:
- International passport photographs
- Two Canadian passport size photographs.
- Medical charges (differs by cities/hospitals)

1. Let the hospital know that you will need them to send the hard copy of your medical results to your mailing address.
2.when you received the medical report, scan them and upload it on IRCC webform and include your PR application number and UCI. On the comment let IRCC know that you just had your medical exam for your stay extension application, that you are sending same medical report as an upfront medical exam for your PR application consideration.
3. An IRCC agent would acknowledge the receipt of your medical report for PR application consideration and after 2 or 3 weeks they will update your médical status on your PR application(if you passed your stay extension medical definitely same would go on your PR).

This is exactly how it worked for me. I am a December inland spousal PR+OWP, stay extension applicant and I had my extension approved March, 2020 and passed my PR medical already(updated April 28th, 2020)
NB: I did my medical test when IRCC requested I should do it for my stay extension application.

Thank you for the reply. Usually Medical reports are directly uploaded by hospital on IRCC portal. All they give us is acknowledgement paper that i have done medical tests as soon as you finish tests on the same day. I am not sure what you are referring to Medical reports.

Are you saying that Medical reports same as acknowledgment paper?

@Kishorekish
Yes it's e-medical and it's uploaded online.
Medical reports or results is the comprehensive results of the xray, hiv, syphilis and routine physical checks sent to you about a week after your test(ie if requested by you). It was about 6 pages( still depends on what your hospital sends to you). You can send acknowledgement paper if your hospital sends that to you.
I submitted the upfront medical result by IRCC webform to have it considered earlier for my PR because I passed the medical for my temporary stay extension application but didn't reflect on my PR application yet. Did you understand?

It is really great that people are getting their OWP approved now. Really kicking myself that I didn't include it in my application now. Would have saved a whole lot of worry, but hey can't go back now. Anyway, got a generic reply from the IRCC webform I sent enquiring if there had been any movement on my account and how I could apply for the OWP now. They sent me one saying If I apply it should be by paper and should be sent to Alberta? Is that correct? Never heard of it being sent to Alberta before, always been to Nova Scotia. Here is what they sent:

The work permit application was not included with your sponsorship application?

Thank you for the reply again. When i filled bunch of questions to get Visit extension checklist on CIC account, i selected YES for the question " Have you lived in a designated country for more than 6 months in the past year?" Coz my wife lived in India prior to coming Canada.India Comes under designated country where need to do medical exam. So coming back to the checklist, since i selected YES to that question, my wife has to do upfront medical exam.

Usually Hospital gives E-medical report on the same day which to upload in the medical exam proof section right? Or the medical results?(Some hospitals dont give reports to applicant even if you request and said they will contact only if there is some issue with health, i did not get mine when i did mine EE CEC processing)

1. I can upload that E-MEDICAL report for Visit Visa extension right? and Same E-MEDICAL for Sponsorship PR Via Webform?
2. Also, my wife landed in Canada on November 8th, 2019. On May 7th it will be 6 months. We got medical exam appointment on May 6th. We are submitting Visit visa extension application on same day May 6th. Question is during application filling i selected "Extend my stay as visitor" Should i also select "Restore my status as visitor"?

Thank you for your response.

Same question. My spouse's visitor Visa( we have already got an extension once) is ending may-27. Our Inland+owp application was recd on 12th Dec. Given the pace of approvals, we might miss the OWP timeline of may 27th. Wanted to know that should we apply for another visitor Visa extension?

And even if the OWP application is approved before 27th May do we still need to apply for the visitor Visa extension to have a valid status?Or is the work permit itself enough?
