Average Processing Time in Sydney, Nova Scotia

So I mailed the sponsorship application forms and supporting documents for my spouse and our child about two months ago to the processing centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I’m currently waiting for their response at the federal level to know whether or not they considered me eligible to sponsor before the procedure may continue or not with the government of my province.

Might anyone have an idea how long the processing time takes on average at the processing centre in Sydney for family sponsorship files? It’s quite tough as well, the fact that the fees paid are non-reimbursable.

No one can answer, given everything is delayed because of the pandemic. At this point, the only fee that is not refundable is the $75 sponsor fee. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=353&top=14

Thanks a lot for your reply. Might they have a call center number perhaps? I nonetheless admit that it would be difficult given the applications I submitted online have no file number.

Their number is 888-242-2100 but be advised, they won't be able to do much more than answer general questions. Unfortunately, they aren't able to look into application processing, timelines, etc. at the moment. I'm currently in the same boat, I've been waiting for SA as well (we originally submitted our application on January 23rd!).

No point in calling. They can't give you any information that isn't already available, namely, everything is delayed because of the pandemic.

One last question... I might be moving to a new address at some point soon. Do I need to contact them at the phone number you guys gave above so that they don’t send their response to the wrong address when the time comes or should I send them a letter or simply do a local change of address form?
