Hi there

@canuck_in_uk. Anyone please feel free to repond as well.

I need help with an eligibility question for my PGWP application. I am in the process of completing an upfront medical which I started last week. However, due to covid-19 i have to wait to get labwork done.

The eligibility question is: Have you had a medical exam performed by an IRCC authorized panel physician (doctor) within the last 12 months? how will i answer this yes or no. Or this is in reference to previous canadian application?

There is another question that ask if I intend to work in a clinical setting, teaching etc, I will select yes. IF I must indicate no for the very first question I asked, where exactly would I indicate a medical was done/ in process?

Thanks

As you haven't completed the medical, I would say No.

There should be a place for you to include additional docs like an LOE.

Hi @canuck_in_uk
1.In my LOE, Should a single sheet be done for the employment history? It is only one additional previous employment need to be listed making it 4 sections. I simply put the table directly below in my LOE.

Also, I am confused with what I should indicate in the Current Activity/ Occupation section on my PGWP application. I work part time, however, since the pandemic, I had stopped working even before my grades were published. I did not resign.

Also in the employment section there is also the From and To slots which I do not know what to put in those slots. I note that there is a rule that I must stop working once I receive my final grades and letter of completion until I submit my PGWP where I would be able to work full-time upon submission.

However, being that my new full-time job is teaching assistant, I cannot work until my PGWP is approved and I have not signed the job offer as yet due to the pandemic. In the section Current Activity should I indicate the following:

2. From: Jul 2019 To: (does anything goes here or its left blank). (Current activity/occupation) as Guest Experience Leader. (Company/Employer/Facility name) Mcdonalds.

OR

From: ? (I do not know what goes here) To: ? (I do not know what goes here). (Current activity/occupation) as Recent graduate looking for work? (Company/Employer/Facility name) to be determined?

3. For the passport and stamps supporting documents section, Do i need to upload my old passports with stamps as well since it has my initial counterfoil in it or will i upload only my new passport that has my new counterfoil?

4. Do i need to upload my old and new study permit in the passport section with passport imaging to show current status? There is no section for this.

Thank you @canuck_in_uk and others :)

1. I'm not sure what you mean about the employment history. If you can't fit the required 10 years of history on the form, list the rest on a separate sheet.

2. For current activity, if you haven't been laid off or quit your job, list your employment, put the present date for To and explain in a separate sheet that you stopped working but are still employed. You don't list the job offer.

3. New passport.

4. You need to include a copy of your current study permit.

@canuck_in_uk thank you for you assistance thus far. I have to update you, I just spoke with an IRCC agent and I asked about me putting forward a letter of explanation for the incomplete medical. The agent responded that since there is nothing on there end in respect to upfront medical extension or anything surrounding upfront medical I may be risking myself to an unfavorable response because it is required to be fully completed. I can understand that this is the case for normal circumstances but with COVID-19, I do not agree that it should be a risk factor.

Who exactly did you speak to? The Call Centre is closed.

I don't know who you spoke to but IRCC is making allowances for people who can't obtain required documents because of COVID-19.

IRCC is making allowances for people who can't obtain required documents because of COVID-19- said by you, is the exact same thing I said to her. I wished I asked her to send a copy to my email address. 888-242-2100 is what I called then followed the prompts 3-4-1-0. They are working 9-5 EST in some areas, as per their record while you wait for an agent. The call waiting was not long either. I was waiting for 38mins. The agent I spoke with put me on hold I guess to clarify with her supervisor am assuming, after I inquired. Then is when she proceeded with the information I just told you about. I told her this is an unfortunate situation and i cannot see how what you are telling me is applicable especially now.

Interesting that they are taking calls when the IRCC website says that they aren't.

The Call Centre is notorious for giving out wrong information. They aren't agent; they are poorly trained call centre workers and don't have access to much more info than what is published publicly.

A medical isn't even required for your app, so the "unfavourable response" would be your PGWP issued with the restriction, not a refusal. You would then have to amend it once you complete the medical to have the restriction removed.

Thank you. I still have time, so I will consider wisely.

Hi @canuck_in_uk. For question number #2. I am now in my gap period from Study to PGWP. I received my "potential graduate letter on 20.4.2020 which states I have fullfilled all requirments etc." This means as per cic rule. I can no longer work until i submit my pgwp. I am still employed with my employer but havent worked since March when the pandemic began. My question is for "my current activity/occupation" since I can no longer legally work.

1.Do I insert my time period being a student here? i.e.

From: 10 2017. student. at xxx university

To: 10 2020

2. Where would I insert my current part -time job? Do I insert it at all since I cannot work at this point in time after receiving my letter from uni?

3. My transcript appear to be a "normal transcript" stating current program but no indication of degree awarded I may have ordered it to early, what remarks exactly should a final transcript say to indicate that I am done studies?

Countless blessings!

1. Your time as a student goes in the Education section.

2. You put it in the Employment section. You can just put the last day that you were allowed to work.

3. Sorry, don't know.
