Hello!
I was hoping that some folks here could provide some advice on my particular work permit application -- and which could be helpful for others in a similar situation.
I am currently applying for a temporary work permit (with an exemption from the Labor Market Impact Assessment).
My partner plans to apply for the open work permit and will join me in Canada at some point. However, we are not (yet) married, nor do we qualify as common-law partners as we have been in a long-distance relationship (due to my work) for the past two and a half years (we have now started co-habiting since three weeks ago). In the application I am currently completing, I must therefore declare myself as "single." Does this cause any problem if I marry my partner at a later date (while or after my permit is granted) and, after that, she applies for the spousal work permit?
Thanks very much for your help in advance!
