As a Freelancer I've seen all my work dry up this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic (I assume that's the case for many people on here...) and I just wanted to publicly lament the passing of my savings as I use them to keep me alive... They were adding up nicely ahead of a hopefully positive opinion on my application but it's back to the coalface again and when the work does come back on stream, working like a man possessed to save up again...

Good luck to all in these bonkers times. Best wishes from the kitchen table office...

Stay strong and look for spots to trim the fat on the spending. (I say that but I've just bought an external hard drive and some other gadgets!) We'll get through this and when we do get our businesses back up and running again we'll be doing it with an existing client base and the memories of all the mistakes we made the first time!

Thank you for the supportive thoughts ,buddy .

I don't know where you are from but let me say I am from China , and it terrifies me that some of the fellow Canadians might blame us for "creating" this thing that has costed their jobs . I guess that's one more thing for me to worry about . We live in a small city on Vancouver Island , so far it has been quiet and peaceful with only a couple of racism cases , God knows what's gonna happen as things go worse later on . So far , we are just so grateful that we chose Canada over our neighbor to the south when we decided to immigrate.

With luck you'll not have to experience any major racism over this, in the US I can imagine it's going to be very unpleasant for the Asian community... I'm UK based at the moment, there have been a few racist incidents against Asians here, one guy beaten by 4 scumbags. Stay safe and keep the faith that it's all going to be OK.

I am a freelance too, and the most ironic thing is, I am a native Chinese.

From my personal viewpoint, I am really sorry to hear your situation and I apologize for what our government did/said in last few months. Actually, that's the main reason why I want to get out such a heartless, cold milieu.

Hope you could get through this. There is always a silver lining behind clouds.
