Hi everyone. I just sent in my application and realized I made a REALLY silly mistake. Here's what happened:
So I spend the last couple of nights working on the forms, double and triple checking everything, and printing and photocopying stuff. I even made my husband sit down with me last night to go over each page and make sure all the right boxes are checked and so on. So we're all set, I make three bundles for myself and the kids, all is set. I debate within myself whether I should choose Canada Post or UPS or FEdEx, and this morning I decide to go with Canada Post. I take the package to the post office, ask for the right envelope, pay for the envelope, fill out the address, hand the envelope over to the lady at the counter, she hands me a copy of the "to/from" section, and voila I'm done (or so I think). Two hours after this I realize I did not close the envelope!! (In my defence, some couriers I've worked with in the past wanted to take a last glance at whatever's inside the envelope to make sure you're only sending what you've declared - but still, this is no excuse.) So I frantically call the post office, and the lady tells me the envelope is already on its way. She also let me know that she should've closed it during scanning. But I am super nervous right now! I don't know if the contents will slide off of the envelope, and there's no way for me to find out. The fact that the envelope will be delivered soon doesn't mean all is nicely in place. If the officer reviewing my application sees nothing in my envelope, it will be tossed away and I won't get an AOR. I don't know what to think now.
This is such a stupid mistake! Arrgh!!
What are your thoughts? If I don't hear anything within the next.. 6.. or 8 months, should I try to contact the case processing unit? Given we're in the middle of this Covid crisis, I can't even make an educated guess about timelines.
