Physical Presence Calculator: Authorized Resident Status Period Question

Hello,

Would like to clarify a question in the Physical Presence Calculator:

In the Physical Presence Calculator it says “ list the periods of time you had authorized temporary resident or protected person status in Canada and the type of status you had between 2015-03-25 and 2017-12-08”

The entry I entered initially was:

Type: Temporary Worker (This was a post graduate work permit PGWP)

From: 10-10-2014 (mm-dd-yyyy)

To: 01-08-2017 (mm-dd-yyyy)

Because that’s what I had for my PGWP document

However that entry was not accepted by the Physical Presence calculator. So I entered the below instead:

Type: Temporary Worker

From: 01-01-2015

To: 12-08-2017

Before it accepted my entry. The reason I entered the above is because by 03-10-2017 I had received another work permit, pending the decision on my PR application (notice the date from the first entry, 01-08-2017 – this is when my PGWP expired but my application for PR was being processed – make sense?) . Then by 12-09-2017 I became a PR (my landing documents proof that). My understanding is that it the calculator is not calculating before 2014 but rather focuses on the period of 2015-03-25 to 2017-12-08? Is that correct? If so is my entry correct above (the second one that the calculator accepted) ?? or should it have more than one entry to reflect the work permit I had from 03-10-2017 to 03-10-2019 before becoming a PR (it does not allow me to put that into the entry either --- FYI)

Thanks in advance and let me know if this is not clear.

Thank You!!

Looks like you did it correctly.

IIRC, the issue in your first version is that that part in the calculator does not accept overlapping dates in the status, which may be why the system was rejecting it.

Thanks Bellaluna. I guess I will leave it that way.
