Hello. Please help. I am from the Philippines with a valid work visa and under an open work permit. However, it will be my first time to travel to canada. Thus, I still have to get my work permit at the port of entry. I have here with me the documents that I have to present at the port of entry for me to obtain my work permit. Will I be allowed to enter? Based on the live news, ‘valid student and work visa are allowed to enter’ However, based on the written news, ‘student and work permit’ I’m confused. Thank you.

The answer is no at this time. The official government statement does not include those on study permits and work permits. Based on what has been officially published by the government, you are not allowed to travel to Canada and the ban does in fact apply to you. All of us here have also heard conflicting information in the news. Until the government updates the instructions below to incldue students/workers, you should not attempt to travel.

But I still don’t have my work permit with me. I still have to get it at the port of entry but I have valid documents from IRCC stating that my work permit has been approved and I should present these documents at the port of entry to obtain my work permit. My visa is valid as well. Will I be allowed? I’m really sorry for asking a lot. I’m just quite anxious.

I don't know. Sorry. All we have to rely on is the information in the government announcement.

I just saw something on CBC from the Minister, where the Government set guidelines for individuals entering holding COPR, TFW and student permits issued PRIOR to I believe March 16th. I’ve been searching for an OFFICIAL link from the Feds regarding this . But they said the guidelines wouldn’t be implemented for a couple days, so everyone shouldn’t rush the borders until the guidelines are published, since obviously the situation is fluid

You could listen to your friend or you could read the actual information posted by the Canadian government that tells your friend he is wrong. Seriously, the official link is right in the post before yours.
