Hello, guys, please advise..
There is a huge possibility of me going on temporary layoff from my work due to Covid 19 situation . I am lucky to get my DM but no PPR yet (OINP, INLAND). How will this affect me and my immigration?
Thanks!

Are you single?
COVID-19 is very emergency special situation. Almost business are closed or reduced working hours
In my opinion Maybe IRCC will update for us
should be okay

I think you are not alone and even better than anybody here waiting for PPRs. I am also oinp isjo, recently laid off because of daycare closures across the province. Asked my employer to give me unpaid vacation until recall, but it seems the full operation is nowhere close in the future. I had my medical passed Oct 21,2019 and was waiting in the hope that I could be in the next batch for PPRs.
This is really frustrating... honestly, I have no idea what to do at this point. Even my lawyer is not responding to my email....

That is a smart thing you did with requesting vacation, I was thinking about doing the same if they will actually lay me off. Another option is to get quarantined, which will win you 14 days. Not sure for how long is this whole situation is going to last for but hope will get our PPRs at next draw.

Please help me!!

I was working at daycare, but my employer said, city of Regina is asking to close all daycare. So, there is a possibility of me going on temporary layoff from my work due to shortages of work. In this case, can I claim an EI even though government said, DO NOT CLOSE. Does it affect to my PR process? .....COVID-19.....

Thank you.

Same here. I am one of the Ontario ECEs who are temporarily laid off. To my understanding (i may be wrong!), if the employer issues an roe for you, you will be eligible for ei, but this means your employment status changes, which has to be reported to the provincial government sponsoring your nomination if you are a nominee. If you ask the employer to grant you an unpaid vacation until recall, we can keep the employment status up to about three months depending on how long you worked. But this means no ei.
I am not sure about this part though... but personally I wouldn't mind losing ei at this point because it has been 290 days since my aor... it just sucks if this affects my pr application at this point...
