Hi,
I hope someone can help me here. I am currently in Canada with Open Work Permit and looking for a job. There is a contractual job offered, 6-months only but subject for extension and is full-time. Can I claim points for this on my profile? Or do I need to complete 1 year work first? Also, is LMIA required even if I have a job offer already? Thanks.

Hard to say if you can claim points without knowing if you have prior work experience in Canada or from outside of Canada.

An LMIA is required if you want to claim the 50 job offer points.

You still need an approved LMIA if you want to claim the 50 job offer points.

Have you set up your Express Entry profile to determine how many points you have? Have you taken a IELTS yet? Have you had your education assessed yet?

I am planning to create the profile this month. Done with IELTS and ECA thru WES but score is low so planning to try PNP.
