Sponsor: Canadian CitizenOur case:
Canadian citizen sponsoring US spouse (common-law), no dependents. Quebec bound.
Application received Jul 5, 2019
Eligible to sponsor Sep 6, 2019
Biometric instructions Sep 16, 2019
Paid biometric fees Sep 16, 2019
Application forwarded to CPC Mississauga Sep 20, 2019
Completed medical Oct 14, 2019
*Note: there were a few confusing biometric emails... 1st a final notice, then the instructions, then how to pay... messy communications on their side
Sent CSQ application to MIDI on Sep 29, 2019
CSQ AoR Oct 15, 2019
Medical instructions Nov 13, 2019 **Again not sure why, medical was done 1 month earlier. Went back to doctor who provided proof that he had sent it
Medical instructions and final request (again) Dec 5, 2019
CSQ request ("final") from IRCC Dec 5, 2019
No news since, however:
1. ECAS says application started processing Jan 30, 2020
2. ECAS says "medical results have been received. You passed the medical examination"
3. We called the Qc gov't 2 weeks ago, they said "The CSQ was approved on March 3rd - you should receive it in the mail anytime. However we work together with IRCC, you don't need to pass on that yourself"
Overall sloppy job on their side with medical, biometrics and CSQ. Not sure if we can expect a DM very soon, or in months... anybody had a similar experience?
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting, and congrats to those who are done!

No it doesn’t.Hi all.
please does anyone know if receiving OESP (Ontario Energy Support program) - some credit applied to utility bill will be considered as welfare/social assistance? I am trying to sponsor by spouse but so worried about this.
Do you live in Ontario and was receiving the OESP, did it affect your eligibility for sponsorship or not? I'd appreciate responses
thank you
