Is anyone able to help what the closest local IRCC office is around St. Catharines, ON?

I got an email saying this but idk where it is
“you have been formally invited to attend an appointment at the IRCC local office and are requesting to reschedule.”

I’ve been thinking about going to one in Niagara Falls but my application processing in Scarborough.
you are lucky to receive invitation at IRCC local office. Will you please share on which date you received above email. I was to attend oath ceremony on 31st March 2020 at Scarborough. Thanks

Hi,
St.Catharines applicant processed at Scarborough and waiting under the decision made status here.

Before the link "Find a citizenship ceremony in your area" in canada.ca was brought down last week due to Convid emergency, I remember seeing the following venues for the oath ceremonies:

#1 St. Catharines Golf and Country Club (St.Catharines)
#2 Brock University’s Goodman School of Business Atrium (St.Catharines)
#3 Niagara College's NOTL Campus (possibly under Niagara Falls)
#4 IRCC Portage Road (Niagara Falls)

The first 3 are temporary/special venues for the ceremony. With the current emergency situation not sure if the government had made any special arrangement to roll out the ceremony. When did you receive this mail and is it after the cancellation mail? Did you try calling IRCC and check?

All the best.
I received the cancellation email on Saturday and the day after I requested my application as an urgent process replied to a provided email on the cancellation email. The email I received after I replied to them I'm pretty sure it's an automatic reply set on their system.

To all August 2019 applicants - I am seeing lot of people from this group getting test invites. They started processing my application on Nov 21, 2019 and I haven't heard anything yet?

Any recommendations?

You (along with all others waiting) will likely receive none until the testing/oath suspension has been lifted. Tough time, tough measures. Hang in there, it will all be good in the end. In the meantime you could make a call to them although many a time this doesn't result in an actual answer there are cases when people receive info that they need.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation of your Oath Ceremony. It must be very painful and frustrating.

I have posted this in another thread and am reposting it here.

"What if all the Candidates are sent Oath Affidavit/Statement via their registered email for them to Print and Sign in front of a Notary. The Originals are sent to IRCC after which Citizenship Certificates are issued following receipt of Oath Affidavit/Statement.

The world has moved on from the conventional methods to a new wave of legal/contractual authentications and confirmations. We seem to be stuck with the old-fashioned ways when it comes to Oath Ceremonies etc."
Oath ceremony: The officials dont owe it to us. We owe it to ourselves. Let us all contribute 50 dollars each, hire a lawyer and petition the officials to accept a notarised document as proof of oath taken. We courier it alongwith original PR cards. And get citizenship certificate back by courier. We pay for courier both ways.

Is IRCC can make decision to send Citizenship Certificates on addresses or Oath is required? as there is no expiry date of COVID19. Oat Can be conduct later or Online.
Why not, we all send request to IRCC to deliver
Citizenship Certificates on addresses.

It is a good idea but given how long it takes for any formal action, not even mentioning legislative changes, this is practically impossible. Might take a year or two to pass a paragraph allowing notiruzed changes. On the other hand, there is a 50% chance (IMHO) this entire virus thing might affect tests/ceremonies for another year as well. In any case it feels like we are stuck here.
On a "bright" side, you are probably not going to take advantage of your new Canadian passport this year anyway. The entire world's travel will be affected and leisure abroad activities may eventually bring more problems than joy.
Who knows, maybe this time was given us for self-development or a chance to spend more time our families before something worse happens next year. Like alien invasion, WW3 or maple syrup shortage.
I had been waiting for my oath impatiently for quite a while (14 weeks after my test is close to a record). Now with all this mess happennng around I realize it is not a biggest problem, remain calm and would accept any outcome.

Stay safe everyone!

There is no new legislation required. The oath has to be to the satisfaction of the oath officer. Even if there is, the federal govt has to just send notification of change of process.
Its Canada. It doesnt take years for amendments.
It will save time for future generations to come.
