New police certificate rules?

Hello all getting ready to apply for common law sponsorship inland. I read on IRCC website that February 14th they are now asking of applicants to submit police certificates at the time of submission. So how would I go about getting an RCMP police certificate? A friend of mine said they will request it and the RCMP will then send to IRCC. I’m really confused on how this works any recommendations would really be appreciated! Thanks

PCCs were required to be included long before that.

You don't apply for a Canadian PCC unless specifically told to during processing.

Thanks Canuck, also I got an fbi clearance certificate 2 or 3 months ago. Could I include the one I presently have or should I order another?

As long as you haven't been back to the US since, it's fine.
