Hello All.
I applied for TRV and forgot to mention my Old visa Refusal from Australia , in 2003 -04..
was worried about my application..heard about 5 years BAN or Refusal..
I also wrote PFL reply by myself with simple clarification.

Application Submitted on 31 Jan 2020
I received PFL on :24-02-2020
Reply sent same Day: 24-02-2020
Correspondence Letter Received: 10-03-2020
Passport Request Received after 30 mins : 10-03-2020

Just simple wordings.. i forgot to mention my old refusal as it was 17 years ago and Australian high commission didnt put stamped OR any reference number on my passport so it is hard to remember.. however i got visa in 2013 from Australia so thought previous refusal not important.
overall. its honest mistake and never meant to mislead the authority about my personal profile.

What does your PFL state...do you have a 5 year ban? When did you inform them during the process?

hi naturgrl I have informed them before they send me the PFL as soon as I notice the mistake. I actually applied in DEC 2020 & mentioned about my mistake in application form on FEB 2nd they send me PFL on 5th Feb giving me 30 days to reply

So you only mentioned the mistake 4 days ago when you in fact submitted your application months ago. You updated the webform and then they realized you misrepresented yourself. Did you get a 5 year ban? You can reply that it was a mistake but bans are difficult to overturn.

i know that was my mistake, Once I applied I never checked my application. They just send me the PFL to reply within 30 days. Is there anyway they can convince it is a mistake rather than misrepresentation as I have informed about mistake by myself before they find it? Is there any chances for not getting 5 years Ban as I am really worried about ban.

Based on your timelines, IRCC had already found the misrepresentation and was preparing the PFL letter when you sent the webform to correct the error. Basically you didn't notify them in time and they found the misrepresentation first. They may not have even seen your webform yet.

You'll need to respond to the PFL in 30 days. Confirm the refusal and indicate it was an error to omit it. Let them know you sent a web form on Feb 2 to correct the error.

Thanks scalla for your response. I believe that they knew once I informed that as they clearly mentioned that our office has noticed misrepresented. I have mentioned my uk visa refusal as well however they only mentioned US. I have already completed biometric & medical as I get request for medical from them almost 1 month after apply. So I believe they known when I inform them? could you please guide me about replying the PFL. I just don't want to see 5 year ban. please help me with this.

I can't guide you any further. You need to respond and confirm you have the UK refusal, provide the details and explain why you failed to mention this.

Hello everyone. I got a visa refusal but ban wasn't stated on the correspondence. The background: I applied to IRCC for visitation to Canada with my wife in 2020 and Covid struck and processing time got elongated. I kept checking the portal but no response came for over 2 years and I gave up thinking that application is null and void. Only for me to hear of someone in similar situation that got a response. It prompted me to go and check and I saw that I was served PFL April 20, about a month ago and i was given 10 days to respond which has clearly elapsed when i checked it yesterday. The letter stated that I misrepresented been refused visa to another country asides USA ( this was declared). Apparently, that was UK and it totally skipped my mind because it happened 13 years ago. What is best course to do in this scenario because I am thinking of contacting an immigration lawyer to file a response. I am worried it might affect other applications as i am thinking of applying to study before the year runs out and leaving that question open might be a serious issue. Also, if I was banned, it should be stated in my letter of refusal right?
