Hi Guys,

Hope you all are doing great.

I am collecting information about the proof of funds.

I have couple of questions

1) I have current account in ABL in which I kept funds as per POF guidelines for more than 1 year. Recently, after POF limits were revised by IRCC, I again deposited some cash to be on safe side. But when I checked later on, my initial holdings were appropriately covering the revised POF limits as well. I want to ask do I need to provide the transaction trail or some other evidence for my most recent deposit deposit?

And for earlier deposit which has already passed 1 year now, I presume I do not need to provide any evidence or trail. Please confirm?

2) Has any of the members dealt with ABL before? If yes, can you guide about the documents provided by the bank for immigration purposes?
and does it fulfill IRCC requirements? What should we exactly ask from them in this regard?

For amount deposited more than a year, you dont need to provide evidence. However, if needed later on, you should be ready to provide them with the answer on source of these funds. But they rarely ask for such information. If the source is through your own salary/business or sale of any assets, you should have proof for them.

If the recent deposit is not a huge amount, then nothing to be worried.

Yes i have account in ABL which i used for the POF. Just visit your concerned bank and ask for the letter as per IRCC requirements. ABL has a template for giving reference letter in which they dont usually write average 6 months balance and no debt clause. You can try it from your branch, but if they don't accommodate you as expected, you can explain this in LoE.

1) Thanks for your reply Mike. What sort of proof do normally work?
Should I provide them the salary slip, something like that? should it be approved etc. ?

Further, I have 2 bank account with ABL, one which I opened for immigration purposes specifically some time ago (more than 6 months ago actually) and other for petty expenses (current acct). So should I ask ABL to provide detail of both bank accounts as both bank accounts are with same branch? If I request them to provide information on letter head for 1 account only (which I designate for immi), will it create issue if immigration officer calls ABL for verification and finds out I have 2 bank accounts with that branch?

Bank manager of my branch is bit reluctant in these matters so I want to go prepared to tackle any dodge from his side. Appreciate if you can PM me ABL ref letter you got from your branch (after hiding you personal details, off course) and LOE as well for me to have idea how I need to manage it. Appreciate your help.

Regards

For Proof of funds, you need to show the Bank account maintenance certificate as per IRCC requirements and 6 months statement. If the source of this amount is your salary, then go ahead and present your salary slips as well so that there is no confusion to Visa Officer regarding source of funds.

You can show the account where you have POF. No issue with the other account even if you do not declare. VO will be concerned with your provided documents.
If your branch manager is reluctant, in that case you can ask him a separate letter other than account maintenance certificate mentioning that you do not have any due debts or loan. A simple letter on bank letterhead with managers signature will serve the purpose.
However, after trying all this from you side, as a last resort simply write a LOE from your side to IRCC stating that bank has this fix format for providing reference letter and tell them that you do not have any loans or debts that will effect your POF.
