You can apply but approval is not guaranteed. If your wife is coming to the end of her studies you should wait until she has a PGWP has a job in NOC 0, A or B and has 3 pay stubs.

Most of the SOWP get rejection because they answer wrongly in The questionnaire of Come to Canada tool. The answer you choose is based on what your file is assessed. So answer them carefully.

What should i do, got this refusal third time.
Thank you for your interest in working in Canada. After careful review of your work permit application and supporting documentation under the International Mobility Program, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 200(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
Hi Kamal
Did you get a visa after that? If yes what all extra documents you provided because I got exact same reason for rejection recently.
please advise.

Can you explain the wrong answer in the questionnaire and what the correct answer should be for a spouse of international student.

Have you ordered CAIPS? Unfortunately some will have to wait until PGWP for their spouses to come to Canada if they are able to get a job in NOC 0, A or B.
Hello, what did you mean by this? Why do some spouses need to wait until PGWP and not during study?

Notes gives more details as to why someone was refused. SOWP is not guaranteed for spouses of international students. It says you can apply which confuses people. It doesn’t say that all spouses of international students will be approved. The exact criteria isn’t released but it seems a bit 50/50. The ability to support another person certainly factors into the decision. Anecdotally it seems like spouses of students doing more advanced degrees like masters and PhDs also have a better chance of being approved.
