mahn been in the pool since December 23 2019 with a score of 468. thinking i should rewrite IELTS to push my reading from a 7.5 to an 8 at least? or should i just wait and be hopeful because i dont really want to write IELTS again
Go for the IELTS. Don't wait. If you get invited before the IELTS upgrade, that would be a bonus (Plan B).

Oh man, I state the same question early in this thread. It is 451-500.
I went from 424 to 458 to 466 by paying so much money and working hard to get a second certificate and help my wife get a good ielts score. I feel like IRCC is cheating us. They are not being transparent about the number of applicants, the number of people who accept ITAs. The number of people at each score higher than 450. Its all shady!

No its not, there are lot of folks like me here who has Masters/PHD and also has 1 year of canadian experince with good ielts score. Our Scores are higher than the cutoffs. And also there are a lot of US folks with Masters WES, experience and 8-8.5 ielts scores. Those are the main reasons for the score to climb.

I understand your frustration. If moving to Canada is really your dream, then fight wholeheartedly, with all your effort to realize that dream. What you need to do is calm down and think what you can do to make your dream come true. I wish you do not have time stress and thus have leeway to improve your scores.
Bon chance!

I think one of the major reasons for why there is sudden climb of people in the pool is the US and UK shutting their doors.
Master and PhD kind of things exists for a very long time (i.e. they are always there and not a new invention in the recent years), and hence this reason cannot explain the sudden sharp rise in the people with 450-500 score in the last year.

One Question, My score is 471 - Profile created on 7th Jan, 2020 and at that time the score was 469.
Updated the score to 471 on 27th February, 2020...by increasing spouse ielts.

I should get ITA in this draw right? considering the tie-breaker? Please advice.

You really can't blame IRCC for any of this. Right now, the US is an absolute mess and more people are choosing to immigrate to Canada. Getting a score of 470+ isn't that hard once somebody has a masters/PhD and a few years of experience. US H1Bs/graduates/STEM OPTs with experience in particular (such as me) are easily choosing this route to get skip the long US green card wait and an increasing sense of feeling unwelcome in the country. They have also changed rules for the canadian experience class and have made it more easier for canadian university graduates (which is only fair since they have been there longer). Honestly, this is going to only keep increasing and I wouldn't be surprised at all if IRCC shuts down express entry within the next 5 years. Get a PNP and you will have 600 points extra. Some provinces like Prince Edward Island let you apply even without a job offer. Good luck!
