If you wife was able to receive TRV she must have decent savings. Is the government or agency aware that you are married and counted your wife’s funds when calculating whether you qualify for rental assistance? Your income must be quite low to receive subsidized housing. There may also be concerns about you being able to support another person without government help.

Who exactly is giving you rental assistance.

Very hard to know whether it will be flagged. If it is part of provincial welfare program. You will have to ask them. You are supposed to be able to support another person without government help to qualify for sponsorship. If you qualify for rental assistance that shows that you have difficulty supporting yourself.

According to the IRCC page
