Which GCKEY account to use for paying for Citizenship fees

I had one GCKEY account through which I submitted my student permit, work permit and permanent residence applications. However, it had been a long time (over 2 years) since I had accessed the account until this morning when I noticed that as soon as I logged in with the same credentials, it asked me to click on continue button, clicking on which took me back to the homepage (cic.gc.ca).

I want to pay for my citizenship fee for which it needs an account. I am able to login to the fee submission portal with the account mentioned above. However, I am afraid that I wont be able log in to the CIC portal to check progress of my citizenship application if I use this account. I have no idea how to check the progress, neither have I any information as if the same portal is used for the aforementioned.

Should I use the same account to submit my citizenship application? OR should I create a different GCKEY account and use that to submit the citizenship application? Please advise. I have all the documents ready and I can send it tomorrow after paying the fee. Thanks.

You can use the same account to pay fees as you used to create your physical presence calculator. No need to make a separate GC key account. Once you receive your AOR, you can only check the status of your application through ECAS. Good luck.

Ecas is for paper applications ONLY!
