Does the fingerprints request come by email or actual letter by mail?

Some are getting Email and some are getting in the post. I got in the post even though I had provided my email id in the application.

If my application has been in process since Feb 10th, and I have not received a fingerprint request, is it safe to assume that CIC will not ask for my fingerprints? It seems to me that fingerprint requests come within a few days of applications going in process...

FYI
sometimes they do after test too, so depends case to case.

Normally its after CIC start processing. Nothing should be assumed.

I got an FP request today. Anybody knows where do we give this FP? And can i give it over the weekend? Does it cost anything? Anybody from Montreal who have this request?

You can get it done from any RCMP accredited fingerprinting agency (Private agency). It costs from $40 to $60 in Toronto.
If the agency is open on weekend then you should be able to do it on weekend.
Just google "RCMP accredited fingerprinting agency" to find agencies near you.

This can be done at RCMP office and Local Police agency as well - Contact them directly to know more.

Note - The federal processing fee of $25 is waived for Citizenship application. This is RCMP processing fee. Local Police agency might charge fee other than federal processing fee. Private agencies charge $40 to $60 in Toronto in total.
