Hi All,

My Express Entry PR application is under process. Our biometrics was done last month. I just realized my passport is expiring early next year (2020) and I want to renew my passport before getting the visa.
Q: If I get the passport renewed now (2 months into the process), can I inform the Canada officials about it? If yes, will this delay my application beyond the 6 month timeline?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, once you do, just raise a webform and send the new information page of your new passport.

No, it won't influence the delay of process.

you dont even have to inform them about the new passport unless they ask. we renewed ours and just sent the new passports and got the visas.

Thanks navinball.

But I understand that when we re-issue the passport, the passport number changes and if I send the new passport, there will be discrepancy in my passport data right?

Both of my dependent's passports and visitor permits will expire on March 30, 2023. The passports are in the renewal process and we expect to receive them within three to four weeks. After we receive the passports, our next step is to get visitor permits.

I got a nomination from RNIP, Canada and I want to submit all documents on the PR portal now. Once I received both passports and visitor permits I will update my children's information, May I ask what the process is to update?

Or,

I should wait for getting passports and getting visitor permits, then apply...?
