Thanks dear. I have been in Canada for 10 years and we did not travel that much. I think Halifax might be faster compared to other provinces. The test and interview was not stressful at all. Interview was just for seeing you face to face and check your passports and PR card. The officer was very polite and she only talked casually about our life in Canada. Then she told us that you would be getting invitation for ceremony soon. My husband did get finger print request, but it did not affect our timeline. But our status did not change to DM for few weeks, it does not really matter as long as the officer was positive about everything in the interview. My husband got all the communication through email while I always got a regular post.

You can prepare for your test while waiting. You can find Discover Canada hard copy in the library or they can request one from Halifax library. There are lots of online free practice tests after you read the book.

Good luck..You will hear from them soon :)
Thank you so much for your message. I really appreciate all the information. I got the book in July before I sent in my application and have gone through it twice, taken notes and have done 3 tests almost every day since then (I still get some questions wrong here and there though :D ). But I stopped a couple of weeks ago thinking that it was a long way before I would hear from them. I know there are still people waiting from 2018 so I can't complain but Halifax office was so slow when I was going through the PR process that I'm happy to hear that they're a bit faster now. Thanks for all the information about the interview as well. If I can just get my test invite, I'll take everything I have, all flight details, boarding passes just to make sure they have all the information they need to make the decision as fast as possible :D Have a lovely Oath ceremony!

Don't worry too much.
Read the book twice at least, do some of the free exams online, and it should be OK. It's more of an english/french test than an actual knowledge exam. There's a reason most people in the forum say it's easy, if taken seriously...
Thank you!
Test is tomorrow morning in Scarborough, will let you all know how it went :)

I submitted 1 copy of Passport(foreign national) and 1 copy of health care card Ontario with my citizenship application.

Now looking at Personal identification requirements, i'm wondering should i have kept 2 copies of my passport ( one copy for Checklist - Photocopy of biographical pages of passport and one copy for personal identification?)

Can this be a problem to process my application? or processing agent will consider same copy of passport for both purpose?

Hey guys,

I have finally got an oath invitation as of today. February 21, 2020.
My citizenship ceremony date is March 17, 2020.

I expected my application office changed from Scarborough to a nearby location like Hamilton or Niagara Falls but it has not although I told the interviewer after the test.

Anyways, Good luck to you all guys. :)

Hello.. my husband and I are August applicants and took our test on February 6th, 2020. Both of us passed our test. However, the status is still "In Process". I see on other threads that the status changed to Decision Made within a week of their tests so just concerned. What is the usual turn around for Scarborough office? Thank you in advance.
