Is PhD research experience counted as work experience?

Dear all,
I have just finished my 5-years full time PhD. I would like to apply for Canada Express Entry. I am not sure whether PhD research experience is counted as work experience or not. If you have information about this, please share with me. Thank you so much.

You must be appointed as TA or RA or other paid positions on campus and at least have one continuous year of employment (1560 hours).

I think it should be counted but you'd better go check NOC for postdoc. It's more of an issue whether you work under the same NOC depends on which immigration program you are going for.

Yes, it is counted, I just got my ITA by using my TA/RA experience
