Hi,

My PR application is in progress and during the medicals for the PR, I was told that my sugar levels are just a bit high and the panel physician asked me to get it checked with my family doctor (outside of PR process). However, they also mentioned that it will not stop them from sending the medical results to CIC. Post this I applied for PR and after a while I got myself checked for diabetes (type 2) and I have started on medication for this a couple of weeks ago.

So,
1. How do I inform CIC about this diagnosis? I looked at the webform and couldn't find any relevant section for it!
2. What documents are needed to be provided to CIC?
3. What happens after this- has anyone had any experience? Will CIC ask for re-medical?

Can anyone shed some lights?

Hello , when did you submit your PR application ? Have you passed medical exam yet ? ( Does you account shows that you passed the medical exam ?) If not, just wait for IRCC to make a decision on your medical results. If they are concerned about the results, they will request more exams.

1/ you dont.
2/ Nothing
3/ Usually the they carry out more test in case of diabetes and check overall health of the person. They really want to see if you are going to be a burden on the state. Type 2 is very common in this part of the world and doesnt really change your status, unless off course you are at the other end of the spectrum.

I applied for PR on 24th Jan. Medical Passed on 10th Feb. Diagnosed with diabetes on I guess 5th or 6th. I was coming to terms with it myself till now, so hadn't bothered about updating CIC.

Wow! Okay, so I don't have to let CIC know about it. I was under the impression that I will have to let them know of any and all changes related to health, employment, personal updates like marriage, kid etc etc.

You are "letting them know" by your medical test. They will use this to figure out the best way forward. They may ask for more tests.
