Applying for Open work permit at point of entry

Hello,

I am hoping to received my BC PNP nomination within the next few days. I have noticed I can apply for a work permit at point of entry- if I did this, would I be able to work the next week in Canada, or would I need to wait for anything else before working?

Also my boyfriend (common-law partner), will be coming with me. Can he apply for a work permit at point of entry too? (He is included on my BC PNP application)

That doesn't really address the question.

You aren't eligible for a work permit simply because you've applied for PR under a PNP. You can't just arrive at a POE and demand a work permit.

People who can get work permits at POE are people like American citizens with a NAFTA job offer, etc - categories that are established. Unless you fit into one of those categories, you cannot get a work permit at POE by simply appearing htere.
