Pre ITA vs post ITA

heard that it's advisable to fill out the EE profile pre ITA with only the items for which you want to claim points and all the rest goes in the personal history after ITA. Is this correct? Advisable?

For example, I have 15 years experience but I only need 3 to be eligible and get points. Is it OK to fill out the work history Pre ITA with only 3 years experience or should I put 15 years as it may be considered misrepresentation at a later stage?

Also for the spouse with no Canadian work experience and since they get no points for foreign work experience, is it OK/advisable not to declare anything here as well in pre ITA?

Please also tell me what happens next after ITA and what to fill out and where to make everything consistent and avoid misrepresentation.

The idea is to keep the profile simple.

you are right, dont mention anything in the profile which you dont want to declare and then at later stage after ITA you will only be answerable to those things which you mentioned in express entry profile. The EE profile gets locked when you will receive the ITA and you wont be able to change anything.

If you fill all work experience Pre ITA then you will have to submit proof for all 15 years of experience. That is why Pre invite write things for which you are claiming points. I would add the spouse Pre invite.

After invite you will get a section of personal history. You will add everything there including things you are not claiming points for and without any gaps.

well if you have the reference letter of previous 7 years then u shouldn't worry. Its just that, the more you speak the truth, there are high chances of PPR.

My idea is to declare what we claim points for and keep it simple. For the 7 years I will declare it in personal history and provide the ref letter. I will also join in a LoE that will explain all this.

Of course the starting point of this is : the simpler the application, the easiest for the immigration officer to process. Now if the starting point is wrong then I will have to reconsider.

I just noticed that on the ref. letter for my current job, it mentions that I have been employed by the company since 2012 and that I was promoted to my current job 1st of January 2017. The current job is the one I will declare with its NOC.

In this format, since it mentions my employment date, should I declare work experience since 2012 even if it was a different NOC?

You need to declare only if you are claiming points. Given you have 3 years in your new position from Jan 2017-Jan 2020 I don't see any need to declare it.

Remember if you mention your experience from 2012-2017 you will need to provide job duties on your letter for your job from 2012 - 2017.

Hello Everyone - When creating the EE profile, I listed ALL of my work experiences (15 Yrs). After receiving ITA the system is asking for a reference letter from each company!. It's difficult to obtain a reference letter from previous company (3Yrs). Can I just input 12 years in work history and delete the rest from work history, and keep them in the Personal History ? Does the work history mismatch in Pre ITA and post ITA cause any issue?
