Experience while waiting for PGWP

Hi everyone! I'm trying to determine my eligibility to enter EE pool, and have a few questions.

1) I finished my full-time university program in December 2018, applied for PGWP in Jan 11, 2019 and started working full time off-campus in Jan 14, 2019. Then I received my PGWP in April 2019. My study permit expired July 2019 so it's not an issue. Does the full-time experience from Jan 14, 2019 up until I received PGWP count towards CEC eligible work experience?

I have searched up many posts here about this topic and received conflicting information. Then I called CIC and the agent said he is not even sure if I was allowed to legally work off-campus on a student permit while waiting for PGWP (?!). This freaks me out because I'm sure the international student officer at my school said I could work full-time after applying for PGWP.

2) Up to today, I've worked 55 weeks, of which I took off 3 weeks of vacation (legally stated in my employment contract) and 1 week for study leave (allowed as company policy). All of which were paid.

When calculating the hours, does this mean that I can only use 51 weeks (not including 3 week vacation and 1 week study leave) x 30 hours?

Thank you all so much for the help!

it is implied status while you are waiting work permit...

if i am you, I will rather calculate the time from the day they issue PGWP to be safe

paid vacation counts as WP time....non-paid/personal leave didn't

Thank you for your reply! So does that mean for the week that I took off for vacation, I can still count 30 hours for that week?

Yes, since you had already submitted your PGWP application.

I have searched up many posts here about this topic and received conflicting information. Why freak out, when it is clearly stated on the IRCC website?

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/post-graduation-work-permit-program/permit.html#authorization

"Work authorization after submitting a post-graduation work permit application
Per paragraph R186(w), graduates who apply for a work permit, such as a post-graduation work permit, before the expiry of their study permit are eligible to work full time without a work permit while waiting for a decision on their application if all of the following apply:

  • They are or were the holders of a valid study permit at the time of the post-graduation work permit application.
  • They have completed their program of study.
  • They met the requirements for working off campus without a work permit under paragraph R186(v) (that is, they were a full-time student enrolled at a DLI in a post-secondary academic, vocational or professional training program of at least 6 months in duration that led to a degree, diploma or certificate).
  • They did not exceed the allowable hours of work under paragraph R186(v).
Applicants must stop working as soon as they are notified by IRCC (for example, via their MyAccount, by email or by mailed letter) that their application for a work permit is refused."

2) Up to today, I've worked 55 weeks, of which I took off 3 weeks of vacation (legally stated in my employment contract) and 1 week for study leave (allowed as company policy). All of which were paid.

a) if you worked full time, you don´t need to "calculate hours", only part-time workers need to do that. If you worked full-time (30 or more hours per week), then you just need 52 weeks to qualify.

b) paid vacation counts as "employment" - no need to deduct.
Study leave - not so sure (probably counts if it was paid), but it doesn´t matter if you deduct that one week.
