Hi Good afternoon!

I hope you could help us with this concern.

My sister is in the Philippines and I currently resides here in Vancouver Canada. She applied online for a job here in Canada, after several weeks she received a job offer (for March 2020 deployment) from a certain Tony E. Peterson (HR Manager) for Castro General Farms Inc. According to the email sent to her, the position will be Stock Evaluator and to accept the said job, they are requiring my sister for the signed job offer, IELTS test, filled out forms from the company so they could process her Employment Contract (EC), Certificate of sponsorship (COS), Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and work permit visa. Also, there were several requirements which she sent prior hand when she's still applying like NBI, passport, photo, govt id and her company id as she is currently working in a manufacturing company. All the contact details indicated on the email are correct when i checked on their website. They are not asking her any money as per the email, she will only pay for the IELTS exam. It really look legit but my concern is how can we be sure if it's a legitimate job offer? Will it be okay if i call the company and ask? Any thoughts will be appreciated. I hope you could help us. Thank you very much in advance.

I'm sorry, it's super fake.

Their website is super confusing: they say they exist to channel candidates to employers. Their website has a ".us" domain name, which is American.

Their products are "Farm Dairy, Products major markets, Strawberry proceeds, Product terms and information" - what on earth is that?

Finally, here's who registered their domain:

From their website, they have a Toronto phone number, so if you call them, you're likely speaking to the scammer directly.

Thank you so much for your reply. Also, just a while ago my sister told me that she needs to passed an IELTS exam due in 5days or she has an option to pay the employer of 15,000 to waived it. There's no way she could pass that without review. Made me wondering...

Just to add for anyone reading you can never ever pay anyone to waive an IELTS requirement. If IELTS is required for immigration that is the requirement and cannot be waived so anyone asking for payment to waive then it will be a scam. If you pay the money it will be gone and so likely will be the scammers with your money.

Even worse the scammers could provide you with fake IELTS documents which if found out by immigration could result in a lengthy ban from Canada

The advice doesn't change. Your money is lost and any further money you pay will also be lost.

Hi Sir, I just received also a job offer from "Darwin Farms-Canada Inc.". Initially they are not asking money. they just require me to submit copy of signed job offer, Passport, NBI, Valid ID's and IELTS result. But unfortunately I do not have IELTS yet, thats why they gave me option of IELTS Waiver but I need to pay for 500 canadian dollar. I searched "Darwin Farms-Canada Inc at google and they have website. Can I ask some help if this is legit?
