Visitor Record visa approved, requested for 1 yr but granted for 1 month

my wife holding visitor visa for 6 months on arrival , validity for 10 yrs
so applied for extension for 1 yr visitor record visa, application got approved but granted only for 1 month visa.

my question :
- if visa is approved CIC should grant 1 yr visa
- or some mistake in putting visa validity ?
- or is it because of funds we showed , as per the funds they grant visa validity?

anyone has experience the same issue ?

It happens because your wife is not supposed to be living in Canada as a visitor. IRCC decided she should only get 1 month extra after the processing time.

Hence that’s why it’s called “ visitor “, record visa . She’s a visitor in the eyes of the IRCC

IRCC can give however long they want. She can apply for another extension before the current expiry.

She should be applying for SOWP not TRV. As a TRV she should not be living permanently in Canada.

Hello, What did you do after you received 1 month of extension. I am also facing same situation. My profile shows medical due before 8th Sept,2023 and got visitor permit till Sept 8th 2023 and online profile shows final decision made and told to leave the country on or before that day. Kindly advise. Appreciate your help!
