Does anybody know how long it normally takes for the criminal check to be completed?

I received a GU on January 21st and the agent said my eligibility and criminality was "passed" but security has not started yet.

I received a response to a webfrom I had raised last week that told my case is now being processed at the Case Processing Center in Ottawa, Ontario. Everything else about my file is the same. So now my file has been transferred from Nova Scotia to Ottawa. No idea what that means or how much longer I will have to wait but this is getting worrisome. 8.5 months now!

That is very annoying. What is the status of your eligibility, security and criminality checks?

This is the response I got:

• Your application is currently being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
• The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if you and your family members if applicable meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which you have applied. You can expect to be contacted if additional information is necessary.
• · The security background verification has not been initiated.
• The criminal background verification is currently valid.

It's been the status for months now - except now its gone from Nova Scotia to Ottawa. No idea if that's good news or bad news or just more frustrating news.

Its because my medicals were expiring on march 14th and they have asked to take remedicals so that to give more time I guess..!!!

Does anyone have any experience about their case being transferred from Nova Scotia to Ottawa? Any explanation why they would do this or what expectations I should set in terms of timeline?
